mostin
Didn't realise quite how bad my addiction had got but I think the time has come to face it. I have manged to con myself a free place on to OH's business trip to Denmark for a few days and what am I doing? I am sat here using business equipment to log in to the omlet forum . I haven't managed to go a day without signing in, oh dear. Not to mention the amount of times I have texted my poor chicken/cat/house sitter so far. This is the first time I have left the girlies though since I got them so I suppose a few nerves are natural? Or do I have to face the fact that I really am a mad obsessive chicken mummy . Please tell me some of you out there are this bad and then I don't feel quite so sad that I am the only one.
Olly
My name is Olly and I'm an Omlet addict ... you are not alone! I'm trying to wean myself off the forum, not that I don't love it but I'm slightly scared at the amount of time I spend on here, no wonder the ironing never gets done. Besides, what else is there to do at 8.21 on a Sunday morning when the cat's gone back to bed, I can't start sawing wood because it will disturb the neighbours, and I can't clean the girls out yet as they won't have finished laying. Hope you get out and see a bit of Denmark, though!
Egluntyne
There is no hope I'm afraid. No cure. You will just have to learn to accept it and adjust your life accordingly. At least it doesn't hurt.
kitbag
I completly know how you feel. Whenever I go anywhere the computer or the laptop my family just role their eyes! Oh well! I have learnt not to care!! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Looney
You only have to look at the number of posts people have made to know that you are definitely not alone!
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm scared to respond to this 'cos then you'll see the number of posts I've made and know that I'm one of the worst (although Egluntine's worse than me ). I go on at the kids for being on the PC too much and feel slightly guilty at my double standards . They have a limit on their time - perhaps I should add myself to that program I set up for them . Tessa the Duchess
ANH I just noticed that you and I joined the forum within a day of each other, I certainly have some catching up to do as far as posting is concerned Tessa
Ain't Nobody Here
You've obviously gone for quality rather than quantity .

redhotchick
My name is Cathy and I am addicted to the Omlet Forum There are worse things! I'm going to Center Parcs next weekend. I go every year but this is the first time that I have had chickens. I will miss them, plus they only get let out at weekends at this time of year, so that is a double blow. My poor chickens. I'll be back early on Monday so they will get out for some time. I've checked with OH and his web and walk dongle should work in Center Parcs. Phew! Enjoy your time in Denmark. Redwing
i had not used a forum before but this is great! I sign on at work (during lunch) but my work laptop doesn't show the pictures (IT security policy) so I have to go home and read all the threads with pictures all over again so I can see them much less housework is getting done these days

Redwing
I am lucky I have just moved to a much smaller house so far less to clean! (not directly linked to discovering the forum...........)
MedusA
It is very addictive, I agree, though I have posted much less lately (I think). I try to limit myself to an hour or two at a time. Doesn't always work that way though. Edited to add: Just realised I also joined around the same time as ANH and Tessa and I have posted less than either of them. Lesley
Some of us have been here a long time now......here are a few tips...... Arm yourself with a black bin bag and a shovel - use weekly (instead of vacuum and duster) Make sure you buy fresh coffee - it makes the house smell welcoming etc.etc. Read the All Things Nice section - you'll find things like the Five Minute Choc. Mug Cake - makes it look like you've been slaving over a hot stove. Follow all links to things to buy - you'll soon have all your Christmas shopping done....and have more time for the forum I'm sure that there are many more tips............ Snowy
Good advice Lesley! I've been here a year longer than ANH - but compare our post numbers! I thought I was bad but .....
mostin
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your kind words and support. It's so important to know that you are not alone when dealing with these issues . I have to agree with previous post from Lesley, OH has stopped complaining about the amount of time I spend on here since treats like snickerdoodles started appearing . I was funny last night though as we were both laid in bed just about to go to sleep when both OH and myself started the scentence "Do you think the kids are ok?" at exactly the same time. By kids we means the cats and the chickens. It was nice to know he was worrying too. What I am going to do if we end up on a holiday with no internet , I'm getting the shakes just thinking about it . By the way Denmark is lovely and I have seen quite a lot of it but as It gets dark so early it seems only sensible to come back to appartment to play on PC before dinner . dancing cloud
My name is Sian and I am an Omlet addict ... But then what would I and my little monsters do without you? I've not owned hens before and without you I wouldn't have a clue what to be concerned about or not, whether my ex-batts are acting like normal hens or not, how many eggs, what sort of bedding, what do you put in hen porridge, is it OK to spend so many hours with them? is a remoska worth having? etc etc. I don't have computer access at home, so suffer withdrawal symptoms every weekend until I can get my forum hit on a Monday morning . Like any addict, I always have an excuse, but I and my hens are very grateful to all of you other sad addicted people out there
mostin
but I and my hens are very grateful to all of you other sad addicted people out there Thank you, as I was explaining to my OH the other day, it's not just the fact that I'm addicted, it's also that it's a help line. I've only been out of the country for 2 days Next stop Quebec City and then on to Toronto for a week where I'll have regular access to a computer

chickencam
I try to restrict myself to coffee and lunch breaks but these keep getting longer, and if I log onto the internet for something else then the forum just seems to appear and before i know it an hour has passed Having said this it is a friendly place full of good advice, so what's the harm?
