Snow...where...can I get there & back before DD's birthday party on Saturday evening?!

I love snow, but living on the Sussex coast, we don't get a lot unfortunately! :(

A few years back I woke up on my birthday (29th Dec) to a snow storm - wonderful, but didn't last long!

Didn't much like a "white-out" I drove through though, the road disappeared in less than 20 yards - very scary, especially with the children in the car & on a road I don't know very well. Took an age to get home, slip sliding around & creeping along so I didn't go off the edge of the road into the deep ditch. Wouldn't have been quite so unnerving maybe, if I hadn't driven through a dry thunderstorm at the top of the hill, where the white-out started at the bottom!!!

I miss the snow in Austria & Germany. :( I remember going for a walk in Maria Alm (Austrian Alps) & sinking in snow up to my armpits! I also walked up this mountain & skiers were coming down it, I then realised I was on a ski slope - so I sat down on my bottom & slid down to the bottom. Love snow, but not the miserable wet sort we get here.

We are supposed to be popping off in the caravan for a relaxing weekend break this weekend. It's cozy in the van though.

Krakow is lovely, have a fantastic time. WOW -12 is cold even for Poland - wrap up warm!

We were there this time last year and can't wait to get back as like you say it's lovely. :D
