Chocolate mug brownie

Recommended Posts

Mmmmm - that sounds nice.......I'll copy the recipe here....

"By now I'm sure everyone and their grandmother has seen the Dizzy Dee microwave chocolate cake in a mug. However, whenever I've made it, I've found it to be somewhat gelatinous and, quite frankly, not really chocolatey. In its stead, here's a brownie recipe that I've been using for a while and with which I've gotten MUCH better result. Note: This really is more for those of you who prefer "fudgey" brownies to "cakey" ones.

Chocolate Mug Brownie

Ingredients:

4 Tablespoons Flour

4 Tablespoons Sugar

2 Tablespoons Cocoa powder

2 Tablepsoons Vegetable Oil

2 Tablespoons Water

Dash of salt

Mug

Microwave

step 1Mixing

Add the sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt to the mug and mix. Then add the oil and water and mix the dry and wet ingredients together. Be sure to be thorough, there's a tendency for clumps of the dry ingredients to form

step 2Microwaving

Microwave on high for roughly a minute. You may have to microwave it longer or shorter, depending on your microwave, but the brownie should still be wet in the center when done

Leave to cool slightly........"

Got very discerning guests for tea, having been given the 5 minute mug cake last time I have opted to try this tonight. (it's in the microwave whilst I type)

It was a very thick mixture, and in fact having just checked after a minute and a half it's not done. :?

Looks pretty good though, I'll let you know the guests opinion (I'll have to type it for her, she's only 7!)

Edited to say, guest has come for another dollop of ice cream on hers and there is not much cake left in her cup :D , smallest boy is concentrating hard on his and middle daughter has hers in two seperate bowls, ice cream for one, cake in Barbie cup.

(scuse me talking with my mouthful, but small boy wanted his in a bowl so there was a little left in his mug, Mmmmmm, not at all bad! ) Took a minute 45 in my microwave, just writing out the recipe for my puter less friend who will be over to collect her daughter in an hour, I'm under instruction from my dinner guest you understand!

LEWIS!!!!! - now look what you've done!!!!!!!!!!!

I've only got time to type because mine is cooling down.........

I forgot yesterday to only put one spoon of oil in, because otherwise it had oil on the top once cooked - I used kitchen roll to get rid of it in the end, and it was good
