I'm Not Going to Tell My OH!

Recommended Posts

I got a new chicken today (The Oxford Chicken Keeper thread explains how!)

I am not going to tell my OH about her :shh:

This is an experiment in to the average chap's ability to notice things under his nose.

I reckon it will be a good couple of days before he clocks on :D

A chicken in a cage in the garden must be obvious! I hear you cry. lets see.....

my husband is more likely to be the one to get another chicken, it's me that has to keep saying "No, we're up to our limit!" Then yesterday, his mother says on the phone "I'll buy you another one after Christmas".

Just off to read the other thread. You are WICKED. :D Like your style.

Edited to add - think he might notice on friday when you are swanning around in Perth that there is a dog crate in the garden. :D

I 'aquired' a new hen! and planned a cunning intro under the cover of darkness but was rumbled when the auto light flicked on and I was caught red handed sneaking accross to the cube to hide said hen! He was fine about and actually named her! I tested him this morning and he got all the names correct!

Happy Christmas everyone!

SPRUNG!

Unfortunately my OH couldnt sleep and got up at 5:15, he let the girls out obviously not realising the new one was in the Eglu

About half an hour later when I was cleaning my teeth he came in to the bathroom and said "we have four chickens" I feigned surprise and told him to go and count them again (just to let the confusion set in a bit more)

Now my OH is a reasonably bright bloke but what he then said had me in stitches...

Counting on his fingers he said: "two of them are clucking at each other and two are watching but the two that are clucking at each other are the same hen"

They are both the same colour and not actually the same hen  (bit more water with it next time Mr Redwing!)

Chotu went in her dog cage for the rest of the day after some porridge but I was surprised to see that the time she did spend with the others seemed noisy but violence free thankfully :D
