The good lifers
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you...that it doesn't turn out to be a boy version!! Good luck!!
feemcg
I'm fairly sure they're both girls. The darker one looks to have some Rhode Island Red in it, the pale one a kind of Buff/Light Sussex mixture, but the legs are a bit yellow. chelsea
Thanks Fee....I really hope you are right... You've seen a lot of chickens so I am confident in your experience! Nice to see you back on the forum.
chelsea
20 week update We still dont know what they are! They are still teeny with not much comb/wattle action - but coming along nicely. They are free ranging with the big girls, they are very tame and easy to catch & pick up. Love cuddles. Willow - (blind in one eye) Acorn & Willow Acorn still looks very "manly" to me....

tom123
Ooooh Lovely Think Willow is def a girl as she looks like a POL hybrid doesn't she development wise and I would say the same about acorn. Good Luck Tom
blackgold
Have they got a bit of Faverolle in them..... The paler one looks a bit like the shape of my Bam Bam who is a pedigree Fav.....Faverolles are kinda square large and very docile..... love Sue
chelsea
Thanks for your comments everyone. Im not sure what they have in them Sue... they seem to be getting prettier which is hopefully a good sign for them to be hens.. Strangely enough Acorn has had curling tail feathers up until this weekend....they have now not curled and gone exactly like Willows which is very odd. Goosey Lucy
Beautiful photos, hope they're both girls for you.
Woodcat
They both look like girls to me i would have thought that at twenty week they should have more combs and wattles even my smallest girl had a full comb at twenty weeks and cockerels are further on. I really hope they are girls cause they are utterly gorgeous
tom123
I agree with WoodCat as this is what my 20 week old pekin cockerel looks like... He has a big comb and wattles compared to yours. Hens Tom
Scramble
To acorns tail...maybe he/she is confused? Acorn's not sure what he/she wants to be when he/she grows up! I'm thinking girl...
blackgold
My girls can put their tails up and down a bit....... They can also be no neck, bigger neck and very long neck....... Depends on what they are doing..lol Yours must be girls....hope so. love Sue
chelsea
just to let you know after all the fuss & worry, They are BOTH girls Just goes to show how wrong I can be.... I would almost have staked a large amount of money betting Acorn was male...she still looks male to me but has been laying every day for about 2 weeks now. Willow is crouching. Thanks for all your input and thoughts. x
