Griffin
I took nearly 100 photos of the chooks in the snow this morning. I know you'll get bored so I'll only subject you to a small selection of them Violet on one leg! Eliza: Mrs Pants thinks she's a supermodel. She'll pose quite happily all day long. Tallulah: Juliet is another who loves having her photo taken: Primrose puffed up her feathers to keep out the cold: Quite a few were sat on their favourite mound of earth preening themselves. Others just looked miserable. They can't wait for the summer. Maisy hates having her photo taken so this took me ages to get: Pancake & Maisy: Freya: Nice but dim Valerie:

chooklady
They are lovely photos, my chooks don't like the snow much, they ran around clucking and trying to find somewhere to stand that wasn't covered in the white stuff!

Griffin
Your girls are gorgeous! What breed is Violet please? She is sooo pretty, I would love a hen like her. She's a Bluebelle and is very noisy! She follows me around the garden yelling her head off at me and demands cuddles. When I go out to close their door at night she'll often pop out for an extra cuddle. She utterly adores me and the feeling is mutual. Diana1
They are gorgeous. Its good to see the white ones looking so clean. I have a barnvelder and a speckled sussex and I'm planning to get two more in spring. Need to decide on breed. Are they all laying? Where did you get them from? I lost a gingernut ranger and was planning to replace her with two the same from omlet. Your gorgeous pictures have given me food for thought. Griffin
Clean! It's a miracle they are because there isn't a single blade of grass left in my garden. It's a big swampy muddy mess lately so I'm thrilled with this freezing weather and the snow has made my garden look presentable again Eliza seems to do well at staying white but Tallulah can get herself quite grubby at times. Some of them are from Cotswold Chickens and some are from Mother Hens Poultry. I'm going back there in a few weeks for two more Columbines. Eliza, Primrose and Freya are not laying yet. Tallulah and Mrs Pants lay every day without fail, the others are a bit hit and miss but they'll each lay at least three a week.

I love my girls and would really love to cuddle them, but the affection is just cupboard love on their part - they run a mile if I make a move on them I am definitely going to have a Bluebelle in my next batch.
