Guest
I'm just looking now and it is OK. It found my Grandad (aged 1), then I had to register and pay for some credits, went back and it couldn't find my grandad any more. Searched for his mother and there they all are! Mutrix Farmers
Excellent, I needed a new census to look at, I think I know the others by heart now!
Egluntyne
I wondered why they were burbling about this at work this am. Fascinating stuff.
Guest
There's new information on there too. They had to record how many children they'd had and how many were still living. That's a huge help to family historians!
Snowy
I managed to find my Grandad! Haven't bought any credits though, does anyone know if they take paypal? (otherwise it's included in the no new spends for 2009 category! )
Guest
No paypal I'm afraid.

Lesley
I paid for the credits and printed out the results for the two sides of the family I'm researching - I paid on Carl's card.....does that count as buying nothing new.....? Guest
Was your last column about infirmities blocked out? I was disappointed because my Grandad's sister was allegedly deaf and I wanted to find out.

Seagazer
Am I a freak that I don't have any interest in this at all? No you're not really I'm very interested in my ancestors but my DH has absolutely no interest in his at all. He says it has nothing to do with him or how he is (not so sure about that). We're going to France soon, primarily to visit our DD but also to visit the war grave of my Great Grandad who died in WW1. I bet I shed a tear but he will be standing there saying 'but you never knew him, how can you be upset'. He's an Aquarian, thats all I can put it down to
chooklady
Very exciting although my OH will be saying I've just got another excuse now for not doing all the things I should be doing!! Have found what possibly might be another missing relative. I've ordered a marriage certificate so I will find out next week. Fingers crossed. Genealogy is soooo addictive, you can literally waste whole days as one thing leads you to something else. Happy researching Nicola
ali-s
Is the 1911 census for England and Wales only? I tried to find who used to live in our cottage(s) but couldn't find the county listed

ali-s
Never mind. I will try and find my grandparents from Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire, that will keep me busy
Flo
I am so excited that this has been published early but completly unprepared for it. I am not doing my own famliy tree, but lots of other peoples as I am looking at the history of the people who have lived in my house. The census has given me lots of new leads to follow up, just a shame that I am at work and can't do anything about them! As for not being interested, I think you either love it (and get hooked and stay up until midnight "looking" for missing people on a census) or it doesn't interest you. I just find it fascinating to find out how other people have lived, what they did, what happened to them. It is quite exciting to find it all out from old documents... I think I am a bit of a geek! Groovychook
I've just been trying to find out who lived in our cottage but have had no luck. We live in a hamlet, not on a street and have a house name rather than a number... any suggestions?
kannie
I'd like to know who lived in our house too, but in this census and the one before they've failed to register the house numbers individually, so you can't tell who was in each house. Very disappointing.
