They do look like girls, the males are lighter with fewer markings (not me being clever - someone posted on this recently with a comparison pic)

they don't stay cute for long - in no time, those little darlings will be scraggy teenagers. they are so precious at that stage

Fee, thanks for posting those pics, you really can see the difference there. Just one question, in the box of boys, the one at the very back looks very dark so I would have thought that was a girl, or is it just the light? x

I think it might be the light - I've had very pale, yellow boys and some a good bit darker - it's usually the very defined back stripes and eye-liner that give it away in the girls. The boys often have the larger yellow head spots, but as you can see from your girlies they can have head spots too

As they grow the boys have more grey speckled colouring and the girls brown with a salmon breast.
