Scramble
Was wondering how many of your are joing in on the mass pancake fest? I have officially decided that I'm going to make the pancakes this year, not Dad I even bought a special pancake book. I'm planning on blueberry and cinnamon pancakes And of course - the omlet competition to make the pancake most shaped like a chicken! accidentally though. What are you planning on making? My Dad was actually saying ' I'm not sure I want all the faffing about with the pan and batter, shall we buy some microwave pancakes?' I, of course, shouted him down hehe. Guest
I'm making and eating - remember LAST year I was abstinent (which also meant I gave up nothing for Lent as there was precious little to give up!). I'm a bit scared though - I'll be doing them direct on the Aga hotplate for the first time...... Oh and Im the only eater - James doesn't like them and Mum is doing a month of Lighterlife Light. In Waitrose Saturday they were doing tasters and had a blue cheese and pear combo that was AMAZING!

chelsea
Absolutely hate pancakes with a passion I think it was my dear old nan's fault (bless her), she used to make them and plaster them in lemon juice and currants/sugar - put me off for life! Enjoy yours though.

ClaireG
We're having savoury pancakes for dinner tomorrow night. I'm making some panckaes and stuffing them with seafood mix with extra prawns and some spinach either in a cheese sauce or a sauce made from creme fraiche and lemon (havn't decided which yet!). If there is any batter left Simon and Adam may get some lemon and sugar ones afterwards if they've got room.
fourfinches
I've been asked to go into our local cub pack to talk about Shrove Tuesday and then to judge their pancake tossing. I've said I will on the condition that they agreed to do use free range eggs for the batter - Akela agreed Morag

Bantambabe
Kids were trying to work out this evening how many pancakes you could make from 7 eggs (assuming we get the daily 3 tomorrow) - far too complicated for me to work out since they are bantie eggs and not standard size. Think I'll just keep making batter til the eggs run out. lemon/orange juice and sugar favourite topping in our house
BeckyBoo
My girls love them although small boy isn't keen, my girls occasionally have one for breakfast before school if I'm not running too late! We will all be having them in the morning, the girls have maple syrup or honey, I like lemon and sugar. Might even have them for pudding too! Then lots with lemon and sugar and i always have the last one with chocolate(mars bars are really yummy!) I got some scotch pancakes today from M&S so little sister can have them for her lunch because she just likes them plain. Mmm i'm really in the mood for pancakes now!!! bluekarin
I love pancakes with lemon juice and sugar , I just hate standing at the stove cooking the things! The kids love them too, but I am not sure if they will be having any tomorrow and ED and DS have both been throwing up this evening All I need now is YD to be ill as she mentioned she had a headache which the other two said they had first before feeling sick. ..lay a little egg for me
DS adores pancakes and has them for breakfast at weekends and all through the holidays. I have got some left-over chilli con carne, so we will have savoury pancakes stuffed with the chilli followed by traditional lemon and sugar, though I also have some blueberries and maple syrup to put on them too. Redwing
We have pancakes regularly in our house as we love them and they are a quick pudding Pancake making always makes me think of the forum and I couldn't work out why, time after time I would be thinking of the forum as I got the ingredients and toppings together then it clicked - we use cinnamon on our pancakes

Old Speckled Hen
Why is it that us Brits eat pancakes just before Lent whereas so many places around the world party? Not to imply any criticism, you understand just an observation
Seagazer
My YS loves pancakes and would have them everyday I think. He has a mixture of lemon and sugar and maple syrup. I saw a receipe for american style pancakes and showed it to him yesterday but he's having none of it. Normal pancakes allowed only apparently. My aunt used to make delicious pancakes with half a banana, clotted cream and maple syrup. Yummy (it was the only decent thing she could cook ). I will cook most of them but OH and the children will all muck in and toss a few around the kitchen It gets pretty hot over the hob on pancake day
