moochoo
I've just had my eyebrows threaded. I normally pluck them or use wax strips but the threading method has made them look so much neater. I was really impressed. I'm still amazed at how it's done with just some twisted cotton, amazing! I'll definitely have it done again, it's like I've had a mini facelift
Old Speckled Hen
That's just what I need Do you think if I had my hairline threaded it would lift my face?? I have to admit that my eyesight has succumbed to old age (but thankfully my hubby's has as well) and now that I can't see my eyebrows in great detail I have rather abandoned them Step daughter is getting married in May and of course her Mum, my hubby's ex, will be there so I have to look ravishing ......Miaow
Cinnamon
Did it hurt much? They are doing threading in Reading now (hey, I am a Poet & I didn't know it!), & was tempted to give it a go.....
moochoo
It was no more painful than waxing but it did take longer ( about 4 minutes) so it was uncomfortable but the redness went down a lot quicker than with waxing because they don't remove any layers of skin. You definitely get a great result. It makes your eyebrows more defined, it's quite a sharp finished result.
The Dogmother
They do it in our local shopping centre. Personally I prefer to do mine myself.
ClaireG
I had my eyebrows threaded when we were in Turkey on holiday a few years ago. DH decided he wanted a proper shave, I got plonked in a chair and they started on me I didn't find the eyebrow threading too bad, when they started on the rest of my face though it really hurt
The Dogmother
I am put off by the fact that they hold one end of the thread in their mouths and are really close to your face I know how i like mine done and stick to that
A chickychickychick-ENN!!
What's the difference in comfort and end result between threading and using tweezers? I'm not very up on facial-type malarkey!
redhotchick
I had my legs threaded, below the knee, when I was on holiday on the beach in Cambodia. I don't remember if it hurt or not! I don't think it was too bad.
chickencam
I have 'virgin' eyebrows, never been plucked , they are a bit fluffy these days but I get away with a lot by being blond. My ED has lovely eyebrows, they are so defined and elegant.
jlo
This is all quite enlightening as I have been watching people in our town centre, in full view of the shoping public, having their eyebrows threaded and I wondered what the heck it entailed and why they would want to have it done so publicly! I could probably do with a bit of definition in that area but don't you think that the name is really off putting as much as anything else? Ain't Nobody Here
I have 'virgin' eyebrows, never been plucked , they are a bit fluffy these days "fluffy eyebrows" - that sounds so sweet I'm another with 'virgin' eyebrows .
Alis girls
Personally I prefer waxing. I had mine threaded at an indulgence evening at school. My eyes watered and they felt tender for a week after. The eyebrows looked great but pain wise cant hack it I am a major wuss and hate bikini waxes ( i use creams messy but pain free)
theherd123
My eyebrows are so fair & there isnt much to pluck so i doubt you would see a difference!
Guest
I'm another virgin but I want to get mine done now - they are looking rather too full lately - if there is space I will get them done tomorrow when I have my hair cut. Not sure if they do threading there though..
Lesley
I went to the Pamper Evening at the school last night and my daughter, 'nearly' DIL, and two friends had threading..........they did say that it hurt a bit more than waxing but they were pleased with the results. One had her 'moustache area' done as well. Two of them had had it done before and apparently the last time they had it done it was done by someone who worked very quickly and it hurt less than the person last night who did it a bit slower. I just watched - all in the name of research for you all
Kirstine
I've had my eyebrows done twice, and the second time my moustache done as well. It didn't feel too painful, but when my upper lip was done I involuntarily burst into tears. Quite embarrassing as it was in one of those places where the whole shopping centre can see you, and I think the beautician was even more embarrassed than I was! I think I'll stick to wax as its quick (and private), but the threading gives a nice precise shape to the eyebrows.
Guest
My salon doesn't do threading so I had them waxed - James watched and has been playing waxing all day. I like how they look but I'm not posting a pic as my eyes look such a mess - my allergies are playing up and they just look sore and horrid. Brows look nice though
Tulip
Being blind in my left eye, I can't pluck my own eyebrows (arms get in the way/can't see straight so they go wonky!) and I really don't fancy the thought of wax. Had threading before and it was fab. I moved house 5 months ago and neglected the brows til yesterday when I found that Debenhams have got people doing threading. I feel so much better! My sister watched and was amazed at how quick it was I'd recommend anyone give it a go at least once - it should last 4 weeks, so I can get them done again a week before the wedding. Hurrah!
