FlyingRamses
Here is a pic of my finished run for those who asked to see pics. Girlies love it, they are so wonderful and an egg nearly every day from all 6 though the winter!! Spoiled rotten!! I have my web cam set up in there now so I can watch the girlies from wherever I am in the world on my laptop or iPhone!! Picture of Marge from the web cam:- Picture of the girls having a dust bath:- Can recommend a web-cam, you can pay a little extra for a night vision one as well which can take a pic or send an alert if there is any movement, ie a fox! Isn't technology great!!? I have family all around the world watching the girlies, just have to watch my language when I clean them out. Larkspurs
Those pics are great! Really good quality. Which webcam do you use? We have a couple of cheap ones but the quality is um not good so we don't bother
FlyingRamses
Hi Larkspurs I use the Y-Cam White, Google it and you find loads of links. Not cheap but not silly prices like some! May fit the infra red Black model in the house at some point!

Ain't Nobody Here
Brilliant pictures . Is that an Aviaries4u run? It looks familiar . (Somehow I managed to miss your previous postings about this - can't think how, I'm obsessed with new run postings atm .)

FlyingRamses
Thanks for all the positive comments! Will post more pics in a couple of weeks as I have made modifications for the 4 Bantams arriving tomorrow!! New roof being done in Spring as the existing one half blew off and is now secured with plastic tarp!! Will post web cam link as well although the frame rate is quite low over the internet! Barkisland
Gorgeous run! I just said to my OH 'Ooo, there's someone here with a webcam in their run!' He knows what's coming next....
FlyingRamses
Web-cam can be accessed via following link through Internet Explorer. http://86.158.151.247:8150/en/avmain.asp User - viewer10 or viewer11 Password - hens It may ask you to download active X, this is safe and just part of the viewing software. Getting dark now so difficult to see and frame rate not best unless you are on our network!! Regards Simon
FunkyCrunky
Wow very nice! That would be something I would love to do when I get my chooks.
atsw
Well done Simon, excellent in-run view. I'm watching your flock as I type! The Sun is straight into the camera at the moment (2:00pm), but it's still a great picture. Fame rate seems fine too, I'm getting about 10fps on my connection at work ( , don't tell the IT bods!). Mazzarina
Love the chicken cam! I want one now... The light brown one seems very interested in the camera - I just had quite a close-up of her bottom They seem like a lovely, active flock. FlyingRamses
Wow you are lucky to access it from work Andrew, wish I could although probably best I do not as I would be watching it all day, my bosses in Chicago would not be amused!! Will sort the sun problem out, haven't seen it properly myself yet as I only set it up Sunday afternoon. It will be great when the Banties are mixing with the old girls in about 10 days. There are a couple of bare red bottoms in the run, thanks to Poppy who seems to be obsessed with pulling out the feathers of the two hens above her in pecking order!! My auntie in Australia caught me cursing in the run when I managed to shut some pliers over my finger, I forgot the cam was running, it was dark here and she was watching in the morning, 12 hours or so ahead!!! Must not go out there in my shorts in the Summer!!!
Plum
You'll just have to put a bag over the camera.

beingmaisie
Hi, Im new here, just joined yesterday and came across the pic of your great run. My hubby is designing mine at the moment for my first ever chickens, do you mind me asking what the measurements are and if you made if from scratch or kit form. Also what thickness of timber did you use and what gauge of mesh or chicken wire. Sorry if you have mentioned this in the past, i havent seen too many posts yet. best wishes Gill

Hi beingmaisie, and welcome! If you would like some ideas, a good place to start would be the Chicken Run Inspiration thread, which you'll find as a 'sticky' at the top of the Chicken Forum, or directly by clicking here.
