little cluckers
My 16 yr old is 6 foot 3 and its an absolute nightmare finding him clothes that actually fit. Jeans aren't a too hard to find but anything else is awful. Tracksuit bottoms I've been buying in XL but they just look terrible as he only has a 30" waist. The worst are tops, t-shirts are so short they may as well be cut-offs! Even when he finds something that fits, after a couple of washes they're hanging shapelessly off him with a gap where his waist is. When he started college in September I treated him to a couple of Bench zip-up tops and some some new t-shirts and they're only fit for the charity bag now (even after careful washing and drying) Does anyone PLEASE have any recommendations for clothes for tall skinny people? (His feet are size 13 too but thankfully you can still buy these in some shops , I really hope he's gonna stop growing soon )
Cooks
oh bless, this made me laugh as I have an 11 year old in a size 7 shoe already so I think I might be heading your way in the shoe department. I have no idea on the clothes but I am sure there must be places that cater from young gents of a taller stature I wish you luck though, it must be very expensive keeping him clothed. bigmommasally
Have you tried High and Mighty, their trousers start at 32 waist with a 38 inside leg, which may be a little big in the waist but might be worth trying. http://www.highandmighty.co.uk/page/home
little cluckers
Oh dear, you've started something now bigmommasally!! We've been trying to measure his inside leg and eventually after lots of laughter - (he's very ticklish ) - it's 36"! Thanks for the link I think we may have to take a trip to Birmingham (it's not far) and have a look!

Shirl
MY OH is 6ft 3 and slim, he has the same problem with tops whereby they gape at the waist. I have tried various big brands but they just swamp him . We go to Next for trousers, they don't have them in the store but you can order them. Ain't Nobody Here
I've got a 16 yr old who's tall & skinny too . 6'2" and growing (slowly, hopefully ). He's not into clothes particularly so I tend to get t-shirts from TKMaxx and he lives in Canterbury joggers. I think his last jeans came from Next and they fit well. Size 11 feet, which is manageable for now .
Lesley
I went through all this with my son - 6'2" and skinny at 16. He's now in his thirties and still the same - his feet stopped at size 12 though! He has very few clothes, spends a fair amount on something like a pair of jeans but then they last him 10 years . I know he has a couple of Bench T shirts as they are long in the body. I'll ask him if he can suggest anywhere else for your son. His main problem is work clothes - builders trousers are usually waist 42 or more to get the leg length - he needs a '32 very long'
Alis girls
I have 13 yr old about 5ft 10 with size 11 feet. I get a lot of gear from sports direct usually buy a small mans which dont swamp him too much as hes got a little waist too. Also Asda in a small mans for Tshirts seem ok and dont seem to have shrink yet. Good luck
Valkyrie
My son is very skinny - a matchstick with the wood s"Ooops, word censored!"ed off. He is 6ft 2ins with shoe size 10. He seems to get most of his clothes from Top Man, but as it seems to be fashionable to wear smaller sizes, I have noticed that he occasionally buys t-shirts for age 8! Other than that the shirt sizes are "small" and he only has jeans for the bottom half. If he needs to wear smart trousers, he uses his old school trousers. I watched him go out yesterday, hoody sleeves halfway up his arms (not rolled up either) and showing his underpants.
Karen & co.
My son is very skinny - y, hoody sleeves halfway up his arms (not rolled up either) and showing his underpants. I think we may be sharing a son When I mention the boxers on show I just get Both my boys are tall and slim, one at 16 shoe size 12 and 6'3" tends to get most of his clothes from various places ie JD sports, outlet stores like TKMaxx and Cheshire Oaks, or M&Mdirect and Next etc. Younger son at 12 is 5'10 and shoe size 11, he tends to wear anything until it falls appart but there are more shops available now than there used to be Karen x

Cinnamon
Don't Gap do a long & lean range? My girls were always of the lanky build, so I used to get their jeans from there - they lasted for ages too ...........

Alis girls
We dont have the boxers showing thanks goodness but my son wears a wooly hat permanently he looks like Woolfie in Citezen smith (showing my age here!! ) He takes it off to wash his hair. Valkyrie
Won't be long - mine actually wears . . . a coat! I bought it when he was 16 and he refused - until just lately and now he goes out with it all the time - unless it is milder and then it is hoody and undies on display. But he is so skinny that his "skinny" jeans hang loose on him.
Phoebe
ANH wrote What a lot of enormous children we all have . I think this generation is inches taller than ours was Quite agree. I have 3 six footers, and 2 of them are girls (19 and 17). My son is nearly 15 and can't wait for the ED to get back from Uni in a couple of weeks as he has caught her up, and she will be SO MAD... Both girls have size 8 feet which is better now, but 7 or 8 years ago when ED was 11 and size 8, it was impossible to get anything for her. Similarly clothes were very hard, until we found Tall Girls, who do the 36 inch inside leg she needs. Now though she does use more "normal" shops, as Top Shop and D Perkins do Tall ranges.
