Lesley
I've just realised that my daughter and SIL have very cleverly arranged for Carl and me to have Lauren and Jake this weekend...........the weekend when we lose an hours sleep anyway It was bad enough that the first GP of the season is the Australian and coverage starts at 6am - I was hoping to be able to creep out quietly and watch some of it before they woke up........... (They will certainly be going home before the Boat Race starts in the afternoon - we always watch that....) ....we're expecting some little newcomers to the farm as well....... How deluded am I ????? Olly
... I think you've been had, Lesley! I am looking forward to Sunday, it's worth losing an hour's sleep because next week it will be light enough to let the hens out when I get home from work. (And I'll be able to do some midweek gardening, as well - weather permitting).
The Dogmother
I love it when the clocks go forward Fancy that, V and SIL arranging for an extra lie-in! I have to be up extra early on Monday - Rosie goes on a school trip for the week and the coach leaves school at 7am.
dancing cloud
I'm so looking forward to certain very spoiled chickens shouting for their brekkie at 7.00 rather than 6.00 - at least for a while (though this does mean the watching of the first Grand Prix will be interrupted while breakfast is served) Not having to rush home to get more than a few minutes with them before bedtime will also be welcome Good luck with making that coach on Monday Claret! BeckyBoo
Yes, I seem to have agreed to be at the Ideal Home Exhibition at 0930, so will have to leave home about 8, which is actually going to be 7am, so will have to get up at 6am on a Sunday! Very bad planning! I really don't know why we still do this, I could never understand why it gave farmers more light - only 24 hours in a day, same amount of daylight, did it ever realy matter to farmers what number you actually gave the hour? Surely they would just get up when it got light wether it was called 6am or 7am? Oh well, I shall have the week long battle trying to explain to the children why I am trying to force them into bed at 6.30pm when it's broad daylight instead of 7.30 when it's dark BeckyBoo
Helly Welly
I hate losing an hours sleep. Sleep is precious to me, i guess i'll just have to stay in bed longer. We always record the grand prix and watch it in the evening as DD can't stand it and she tends to interrupt a lot. So please, no threads about who won until Monday or else i'll have to avoid the forum
Lesley
The joy of having two children is that they can go and argue in the conservatory
Guest
I wish they would leave the clocks alone. I might be wrong but it was done to help the farmers during the war to give them extra daylight hours? That was over half a century ago. Guest
I'm kinda pleased - will mean I wake up early enough for the grand prix - I like to get them over before breakfast and have a clear day. Going to bed early won't be hard - I've got the lurge and I was nodding off earlier....
Snowy
My OH fnished his stint of nights this morning so he missed the 'short' night shift He's just reminded me that we get an hours less sleep. I said 'no I don't - I've just had it early' (after waking up from a long doze on the settee)

Snowy
Did we all tire you out Snowy? A late night last night didn't help - so it wasn't all your fault
Seagazer
Well my lovely dog Cookie decided she need to answer the call of nature at 5 am this morning blooming thing, still better than having an awful mess to clear up this morning. So I've only just got up now. Hope Poet doesn't read this, I don't often get woken up by Cookie honest.....
The Dogmother
Rubes did the same to me the other day - an overdose on sheeps poo and she had me up 3 times in the night. She's a good pup though and no messes indoors and all's fine now. I'm knackered today too - pretty full on day and busy yesterday doing two courses; going to bed early as I have to be up at the crack to get Rosie to school for her school trip!
