Aggienator
That is so sad. It is hard not to despair of the human race sometimes. But for every one like that there are all the folk on here, and the kids I see playing in school concerts, sports etc. It is hard remember that these are the aweful few. I hope the Police catch them and deal with them, but more than that I hope that they can be made to see how wrong what they have done is, and be shown the right way. Take care. Guest
Yep there are some good kids out there too and i do remember a few years ago a young teenager alerting us to some youths throwing stones at my horses and going up to them and trying to kick them...the youths were known to the police so as with your chickens someone did feedback that they knew they had seen someone doing something wrong. I know the lad that let us know it was really brave of him to do so as he openly knocked at the farm door when the yobs were around..couldnt thank him enough so yep there are some good ones as well.....just need to eliminate the baddies. I really hope they are ashamed , they are so weak. Glad u can see light at the end to get some more..hope they dont get away with it you must make sure the police do follow this through..Let us know what they do about it indie
jlo
I am so very sorry to hear this awful news. I just cannot comprehend the sick mind of someone who would do this. I am thinking of you and your family and hope that these hideous excuses for human beings are punished in a meaningful way. I know what I would like to do to them but sadly, it would be against the law!
mostin
I feel sick after reading this, and so sad . I am so sorry for you, your family, and for your girls and how they may have ended their lives. It's just so awful that people don't think of doing something as bad as that, as doing anything wrong. I just hope the police realise that people capable of animal cruelty are capable of doing some of the worst things humans can do to each other, and keep the perpetrators under close watch from now on, and on record for ever . craftyhunnypie
My thoughts & hugs are deeply with you on this subject - as we experienced the same with our Frenchie the welsummer last year. It sickens me how people can do such a thing. The police were very sympathetic, but did not prosecute the person involved. They knew who it was too. I cried for ages & still do not trust people who live in the apartment up the road, where a party got out of hand that dreaded night. We slept through it all. But in the morning - our chicken house was open & Frenchie was gone. Her egg was in the nesting box. We searched forever - but feathers & glass were in the road near the apartments. The next day her head was found in the nearby alleyway. I still can't bear to think how she might have suffered at someone elses stupidity. I do truly sympathise & I would honestly accept some sort of counselling & victim support for you & especially your children. I didn't accept any, but now wish I had. Big hugs & I agree on being brave & getting more chooks. That's what we did - that was the only way I could feel I'd beaten the idiots! 3hens2cats
Oh my god, you poor things. This is heartbreaking to read, I am so sorry. I really struggle to see how any HUMAN being could do this to any thing - makes me feel sick. Hope prosecution is swift. sending hugs your way Naomi
feemcg
Sorry to hear about your chooks.......whereabouts in Lanarkshire are you?
madchickenlady
How truly awful I always think you can tell a lot about a person by the way they treat the least of the creatures they come across. The people responsible for this....well, I don't hold out much hope for them living happy, productive lives. So very sorry this has happened
Chook n Boo Mum
I don't know what to say......I felt the same when Frenchie was taken, and whenever anyone else reports such horror stories....it really is so far off my radar to understand how these people's minds work Sending you and yours huge {{{{{hugs}}}}} from me & mine, Sha x

little jerry
We are in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. We live in the town and have great neighbours who are really enthusiastic about the chickens, but there are always a few not so nice people everywhere I suppose(thats me being polite). Its been great support and encouragement tonight and we do intend to continue with chickens. Will keep you informed. Thanks everyone. BeckyBoo
I just wanted to add my sympathies, what an absolutely appalling thing to happen. It's beyond comprehension how anyone could do that to a living thing. At least the fox has an excuse, it's his instinct and he's trying to find food, the fact that they get in a frenzy is something they simply cannot help. When it's mindless yobs then just such a waste of life, your chickens and theirs. I hope they are prosecuted but more than that I hope they really take on board the consequences of what they have done. They should be made to stand in front of your poor children and apologise. I hope your children are alright, they shouldn't even have to be considering this kind of behaviour. it makes me furious BeckyBoo
feemcg
I'm in Larkhall......nice to know of other chook keepers close by, and you're welcome to pop over for some chicken chat any time. My pal's a cop in Wishaw, I'll see if she heard anything about it.....probably find out the people responsible are from 'known' families

Groovychook
I'm so sorry- what an awful thing to happen. It's unbelievable to think that people could participate in such mindless cruelty. Ain't Nobody Here
Little Jerry, I just wondered if you'd noticed the thread about an Edinburgh Omlet get together on Sat 25 April? (If it's not too far for you to come.)
Gamebird
So, so sorry. I cannot imagine how you must be feeling. Basically they have committed the crime of breaking and entering and theft. The police should be taking it very seriously. Let's hope the culprits are found which might be of some small consolation for you.

Margalot
So sorry, It makes me feel physically sick to think what horrible cruel people they must be and so sorry for you and your children. I really cannot understand the why anyone would ever want to harm any animal, it is so sickening, and for what reason??? I feel sorry for anyone who has had to go through what you have, My sincere sympathies for you Michelle
WitchHazel
I'm so very sorry to hear what has happened. I just cannot understand how people can be so...so...mindless. It makes me very angry, and I just wish we had an "eye for an eye" policy. I wish that they would suffer in the same way that they have caused suffering. I can't think of anything consoling to say.......
fluffyknickers
I am so angry and disgusted. Lets hope that karma is true. I really hope they get what they deserve from the police, more than just a "dont do it again". They are obviously stupid, ignorant, cowardly yobs who have been bought up to not know any better. The Dogmother
That is just ghastly (the rest is unprintable on a polite forum!) Good for you to not let them get in the way of you getting more chooks - it will help the children to get over their grief. Something similar happened to another omleteer; he now has some lovely new girls. My condolences.
