OOoooooohhhhhh Yessssssssssssss.

I'm in the process of trying to get an acre to rent. :pray: Waiting for a couple of people to get back to me at the moment.

I'm going to start by keeping alpacas and CHICKENS! on my land (when I get it).

(More info on 'my friends and other animals' section headed 'alpacas')

Hopefully I will own my own land one day. :pray::pray:

When I look at people's gardens, I'm always planning walk in runs for them :lol:

We have a paddock behind our house that was once part of our garden. It was split from the house before we bought it. The owner cannot get planning permission and it is just sitting there with weeds growing on it.

I have planned a corner for goats, a corner for more chickens, a small orchard and a large poly tunnel.......if only! :(

Definitely!

If our 2 newbies had turned out to be cockerels we would have rented some land out and kept them there rather than get rid of them!

Long term dream = orchard, growing wild with meadow grass and wild flowers with a "mown" path through the grass, bee hives, chickens pottering around under the fruit trees and a small area in one corner for some pot bellied pigs. :D

I'm in a VERY similar position.

I'm trying to persuade my neighbour to rent it to me on a rolling yearly lease

All the time... :cry::cry:

One day! I keep buying the lottery tickets... Think won £10 in last few months though...

More chickens, some pigs, big veggie patch, orchard... So many things! I'm on a 3yr+ waiting list just for an allotment...

In the meantime, I am working on getting as much as possible in the garden. It's amazing how many fruits and veg you can fit into a small garden with some imagination...

BUT I WANT MORE :mrgreen::mrgreen:

I am lucky in that we have half an acre so lots of room for chickens, fruit trees, veggie garden etc. The garden was landscaped when the house was buit but I'm making a lot of changes... I want bees too....

BUT

My neighbors have a FIELD behind their house which they don't use. I can see goats, a donkey and maybe a horse on there for me......

We are going to move in about 4 - 5 years time. We can run our business from anywhere anyway & by then hubby wants to semi retire anyway. We are planning on a smallholding with a smaller house - we don't need a big house as we don't want any children. But we want up to 10 acres. A field for chickens, a large polytunnel come garden centre, a pond for ducks & a fishing pool - but we'd like a holiday let outbuilding / static van & a small 5 van caravan field - to bring in a small income.

We have it all worked out & do keep getting info on houses from estate agents. We have even had drives out to see some properties. We will be off to Mid to South Wales.

We can't wait!

There is lots of wasted land near our business premises. It used to be an electric sub station - but it's now just fenced off grassy area - perfect for chooks!

We would, but he is biding his time! :roll: 4 applications for development and all refused. He can put up an oak barn style garage (which is what OH wants) :roll::wink: Plus we don't have the finances at present :(:(

OMG yes!

I am now have the smallest garden that I have ever had... and chose now to get chickens! There is a field behind me with nothing on.... but could not bear having them away from me. So they have the run of the whole garden - and have wrecked it in less than a month!

Oh yes! I dream of owning a larger garden, considering we have a postage stamp one at the moment and to live further out in the country!! Get some little goats, maybe a couple of pot bellied pigs theyr'e cool, called Kermit and Miss Piggy! , see I have even got the names ready. Aaahhh one day............. :pray:

My friend up the road owns a house which used to be a B&B, she's got a massive garden and I keep saying to her "oh the chooks I would have on there"!

I would love to have a big chicken farm...and some pot-bellied pigs. I'm suprised that so many people on here want pigs, I thought I was alone! I've wanted them since I was little and before we got chickens. Just think...pigs and chickens - what a great combination!
