What are you up to this Easter? :)

Recommended Posts

No specific plans here. Hols in the Lakes sound fab 8)

It is Bogwoppit's 1st birthday on Maundy Thursday so we'll do something to mark the occasion. He'll have some pressies to open - although he'll probably prefer the wrapping paper! Can't believe my baby will be a whole year old  This time a year ago I was one day overdue and wondering when he would arrive! :D

Going to the caravan for a few days over Easter which I'm really looking forward to.

YS and I are going to attempt to dye some eggs. I'll hold my hands up and say I've never, ever done this before so should be eggciting for both of us.

I'm determined to use my English Heritage and National Trust cards more this year as well so hopefully will be popping off to do that.

Having my hair coloured on Tuesday (not plum or red unfortunately  ).

Got my ES's 18th birthday party to plan for the 18th April :D

I have my family round for Easter Sunday. I normally do an Easter Egg hunt in the morning for the niece and nephew, followed by a huge roast dinner (we gave up meat for Lent so we're really looking forward to having a big joint of beef or lamb). :) The rest of the time we will just be chilling.

I love Easter it's so much more relaxing than Christmas. :D

This week we shall be trying to get our garden into order as its looking rather scruffy.

For Easter Sunday we have a family tradition. My mums side are Polish so every year we all get together, have a huge breakfast together of boiled eggs, bread, potato salad, fish, Polish sausage plus lots lots morewashed down with alcohol. We play a game where we bash boiled eggs (tips to tip, or bottom to bottom) and who evers doesn't break wins that round and see's how many more eggs they can break without breaking theirs. I think we had a 10 egg'er one year! We dye the boiled eggs using onion skins (been collecting them for about 2 months so should have enough!) We then have pudding or various sorts. his year I shall be bringing lots of mini passion fuit pavlovas made from the girls eggs. We then have an egg hunt and kids go crazy! Its something I remember doing when I was little and the kids love it and my aunties and uncles and grandparents getting merry on Polish cherry vodka. Its the fun of Christmas without all the high expectation.

Easter Monday might get together with the immediate family, maybe in a pub if my brothers about (he lives in London so we don't see him a huge amount).

Then my sister in law and her family will be coming to stay for a few days so if its nice we might go to the beach, or to Finkley Down Farm and see the ickle lambs aww.

On saturday I am working (face painting) at a National Trust (hatfield) as a lot of them have easter egg hunts and activities going on inconjuntion with Cadburys so all those with (or without) kiddies have a look on line and get to a national trust.

Sunday - sorting daughters room as being decorated!

Jack and Natalie have already had one week of their Easter school holiday, I have also had one week of my holiday from work too.

We all go back to school/work on Easter Monday.

Not going away so next week I want to get the vegetable patch ready for planting and strip the hideous wallpaper off the kitchen walls.

Natalie is away to Glasgow on Tuesday for 5 days to compete in the Scottish National swimming finals, Andy is going with her.

Jack will be working at a local pool either lifeguarding or teaching tiny tots to swim. When he's not working I will be nagging him to do some revision for his Advanced Higher exams in May.
