Linda
Aaahhh, they're so lovely. You're making us all broody!!
ali-s
They are lovely Clare Are they all going back to the farm? I would have to keep 1.
Lesley
Hopefully, one will be a hen and then Clare will be able to keep it. I don't think she'd be very popular keeping cockerels where she lives
The Dogmother
Thanks Lesley, just what I was going to say Phil (having gone when I mentioned hatching) now wants to do more in the spring! I have said that we don't have the room to keep any more hens though.
SeramaSilly
I can't wait to see how Herbert (the cream legbar/whitestar cross) turns out like!! Perhaps if he's a Henrietta she'll produce huge plentiful eggs (whitestar) in a lovely blue colour (legbar)!! Sophie x
The Dogmother
I've taken some more photos today and nagged Phil to uplopad the ones he took. The chicks seem taller today and have developed necks, instead of just being balls of fluff. They are much bolder now and pecking up corn at the rate of knots. I'll load some pix up tonight if I can. ouzel
So so cute, I've got my fingers crossed that one of my girls goes broody as i would love a wyandotte bantam or two and that seems to be the only way i can get them up here. The Dogmother
You'll have to fight Rosie and Biscuit for them
The Dogmother
I am still amazed at how fast they grow - they were only hatched on Sunday and they are already growing quills on their wings. I guess it's all in proportion though, as their lives are shorter than ours.
Cate in NZ
They really are fabulous photos Clare , and such adorable chicks. Lavinia's pretty gorgeous too, and looks as if she's doing a great job of being a mummy
The Dogmother
She is Kate, and she's so engrossed in her babies that she's forgotten all about preening. Lavinia is normally immaculate Ring any bells?
