Failed Fosterer! Video added

Recommended Posts

Kinda knew it would happen.

The dog we had been fostering - Gina, a bouncy lurcher/staffie cross had interest from potential owners. They had passed their home check but the wife was unsure about taking on any dog at all. So first of all we're thinking Gina is not the dog for them. Secondly, many tears later, it made us realise how we couldn't give her up. So we're keeping her!!!!

So we failed.

But we gained a fabulous loving bouncy sweetie instead!

The charity called it her gotcha day and also put it down on her records as her 1st birthday too. (Difficult to judge how old she is but as she's just losing her 'pink puppy belly' we all think she's about a year old.)

Plus the charity (Pro Dogs Direct) have suggested to the potential owners that they try fostering instead, to see how they get on. They've got an older dog called coco lined up for them that isn't as demanding as Gina can be. So hopefully all ends well.

Oh it looks like i have to change my signature now too!

I spent many years happily fostering Staffies - hence the "name" :)

Our latest adoption is Marley and he's a real cutie. Definately permanent.

The long haired Persian was also "adopted" - it's been a lifetime of animals for me and mine. Ferrets, fish, birds (RIP Ruby), cats (RIP Minnie), an iguana, snakes, a hamster (RIP Bert), dogs (RIP Max & Blue). We should have bought a small holding and I should have been a vet ...

Keep up the good work - anyone who does this kind of thing is a "good person" !

Every blessing,

Pat & Steve

My brother filmed a game of tug-of-war between himself and Gina if you're interested

Tug of War!

Obviously Gina won!

(There's also a chickeny pedicure going on at the end of the video. A poop/mud/hemcore fibre 'bobble' had welded itself to Gladys' toe. Took ages of careful picking and shaving it down so we could remove it without damaging Gladys.)
