Ain't Nobody Here
OH did a marathon on 19 April and took a coolbag with him. When he came back he left it in the livingroom just outside the kitchen door. It's still there . (He does lots of marathons so don't feel sorry for him .) He must be invoking the well known law that once you've finished using something, your responsibility ends and someone else has to put it away ? I'm not budging, I don't care how long it's there for . Trouble is, he obviously doesn't care either . Never mind, we'll need it in July for our summer holiday . And while I'm at it, HE spilt some hamster bedding yesterday, hoovered it up so badly there's still loads there and left the hoover lying with hose attachment and flex lying on the floor. I just know he'll never go back and hoover it again (despite me saying he should) . *deep sigh* Rant over .
Chickvic
I have to confess - it's the other way round in our house DH tidies up after me. I'm terrible at putting things away and it drives him nuts. Occassionally I'll get round to it but I do need reminding

Patricia W
My OH has mastered the use of a brush - but not the dustpan. So he drives me mad by sweeping up little piles and leaving them for the dustpan fairy!

jlo
Does ANYONE live in a Homes and Gardens house? Only when I have pre arranged visitors Not even then I am afraid! My best mate has a gorgeous house that always seems to be pristine. They have been there for five years and have worked really hard on it and she has such a great sense of interior design that I feel wholly inadequate whenever she comes round here. He OH is very VERY tidy as well. I am, I confess, a tad (about the house, not about the OCD hubby! )
Patricia W
Do they have children, animals?? If so, I am impressed... AND want to know the secret.
Chickvic
I have children and animals (3 cats) and my house is...lived in I don't care for show home neatness, there is always something more important to do
jackiepoppies
How long will it sit there? As long as you let it Jx
jlo
Do they have children, animals?? If so, I am impressed... AND want to know the secret. Two boys - 15 and 12 and a fat lovely cat who delights in bringing her pressies! (They don't last long!) Don't get me wrong - she is not obsessive and you do feel comfortable in her house but it always seems as though she has just heard that MIL is coming round so that everything is in the right place. Maybe she justs tidies up for me Oh - and her bathroom is to die for!
Looney
It'll sit there until, well, until you move it or it is needed again! OH tidies up his stuff. That means putting things in piles. And then when he tidies up the next time he will just rearrange the piles of stuff! But I'm not very tidy either

Janty
This made me giggle. OH asked what I was laughing at so I read him the post and said that it reminded me of him. He asked how and I explained that he had left a bag with two glass dishes in it by the pantry door (he had used them for packed lunches). I added that they had been there for two weeks. He said that he had forgot that he had put them there and that he thought that they were mine. He even admitted that he had moaned about whoever had left them there when he needed to open the door! He then asked why I hadn't moved them if I knew that they were there. I explained that he'd left them, it was his mould and that he could clean them. He did apologise. Scramble
Has he moved it yet. betcha not Neither have our glass dishes. One day, the chickens will the get the initiative to move them...or break them, whatever comes first
Janty
Do you know, I think that there is more likelihood of the chickens actually packing them into the dishwasher than hubby doing it. I wouldn't mind but in other ways he's so good. He cooks, he hoovers, polishes, etc. but he is so forgetful and really untidy.
jlo
Perhaps we should get a sweepstake going on how long it will be before it is moved!
Janty
My guess is Thursday. Goodness knows why but it's as good a day as any. Haven't got a clue which Thursday though.
Janty
Oh dear, he saw that post...he's offended now. And the bag of dishes has actually been moved into the kitchen. They got taken out of the bag for observation, he saw the mould, said something unrepeatable and put them back into the bag. They still haven't been washed so my original guess of Thursday still stands.
Cyber Chook
ANH, my huzzy is exactly the same. He swears that he doesn't even get as far as thinking "Good old Mrs Cyber Chook will put it away", he just doesn't think, full stop, he literally doesn't see it. Ah, what I'd give to have that ability...bliss... Every few weeks, after pointedly (and pointlessly) leaving his un-put-away stuff where he dropped it, I gather everything up and line it up on the kitchen worktop, then tell him that the house fairies have left him a present in the kitchen Caroline
