chelsea
I missed x factor last night, but im glad Ashley has gone. I never rated his voice, I found it very strange - he reminded me of a singing seal (the tone). Ashley reminded me of some female singer - I think her name was Cleo Lane. hubby says he reminds him of SideShow Bob from the simpsons (36 year old hubby's favourite tv program )

The look of Side-Show Bob, the voice of Cleo Lane! So glad he's gone, didn;t like him at all. BEN TO WIN!!!!!!!
Egluntyne
Side Show Bob!!! I knew he reminded me of someone!! All this "Fank you, Fank you" and references to "Ve Lord" got on my nerves more than somewhat. Robert does exactly the same.

Snowy
First time I've seen them tonight, Leona was great, but Ben - WOW! LOVE him. (and if I could do the one with little hearts around it's head, that would be here too!) (Edit - added the little heart smilie in for you! Chookiehen!) red
Don't think Simon made the right choice tonight.
Snowy
Wahay, thanks again Shona! My guardian angel for the week And Simon was definitely wrong tonight. Eton Road's performance was dire I'm afraid for that last song. I was pleasantly surprised by the Macdonald Brothers song, after all the flack they've had. I really don't like that song but they did it really well!
red
I missed the McD brothers tonight. Eton Road aren't consistent enough to cut the mustard in my view.
Louise
Eton Road so should have gone last night that was absolutely shocking No pink lycra Kate and Dan must have been mortified
Egluntyne
Red says: Eton Road aren't consistent enough to cut the mustard in my view. Ditto What is Anthony fannying about for with all this unnecessary falsetto?? Ruins it.
chelsea
Leona, ben and robert should have been the final (all very talented) Simon cowell only kept eton road because louis walsh was getting all teary. simon cowell knows the macdonald brothers havent got a chance in winning the x factor . so he knew if he voted off Eton road louis would have been stuffed. Robert SHOULD have stayed. Who on earth are voting for the mcdonalds...they are very poor compared to the rest. all i hope is that we dont lose another talented one over them now in the coming weeks. gooner.girl
I thought the mcdonald brothers were very good this week. As were eton road and Robert. Ray should have gone. Ben is over rated - Leona to win! Go girl!
chelsea
Leona is amazing...why she hasnt been discovered before now I dont know.
Guest
I thought the mcdonald brothers were very good this week. As were eton road and Robert. Ray should have gone. Ben is over rated - Leona to win! Go girl! watched this for the second time last night.. Eton Rd were absolute pants (one of the "vocalists" completely pantsed up his line, and the falsetto just sounds stupid) - the McDonalds have no stage presence and their vocals make Radio two sound cutting-edge. Ben has something - talent - he can actually play the piano and sing, which is no easy thing... (though I have never really liked gravel-voices) Leona is head and shoulders above the rest - the give-away is that she makes it seem so effortless - the others look as if they are trying... (she shouldn't have messed with the ending of Bridge over Troubled Water, though... ) Ray's a bit of a one-trick-pony... There is a call for Leona to sing something different - outside her comfort zone.. I'd like to see her sing "Firestarter" or "Smack my b***h up" - that'd stretch her, but I'm sure she could do it.. AnnieP
their vocals make Radio two sound cutting-edge. Phil Isn't it? I listened to Janice Long a few weeks ago and she had a session from Nick Harper, who is only the most talented guitarist our country has ever produced, and am pleased to say, after he had played she was speechless. Yet still no fame.... On top of this, Jonathan Ross had Rodrigo and Gabriella as guests yesterday. They're fab also. Don't knock it!
gooner.girl
Well when i say the mcdonald brothers were good Phil, i mean they have improved a heck of a lot! They used to be REALLY bad... I quite liked them last night. Eton Road are normally quite good but were weak last night but shouldn't have been bottom 2. The falsetto is dire though... I agree that Ben is talented - his piano playing was very good but like Ray he appears to be a one trick pony - he has to do a 'rock' version of whatever he sings... But will Leona win? Even though she deserves to. There was a bit in the daily mirror the other day by fiona phillips saying the public seem to discrininate against girls and black people in this competition still (even in this day and age GRRRR ) and the facts do tend to bear it out.... Plus its all teenage girls voting probably. Hence why Ray is still in....

I have to disagree there - in the 'Big Band' show, Ben sang 'Smile', and it was a far from 'rock' version. Leona is growing on me - last night was one of her best performances, and I would hope to see her and Ben in the final. Ray was awful last night - HE should have been out. I am a bit scared - because I have allowed a small portion of R2 to creep into my life - Janice Long, Stuart Marconi (everything he does is fab!), that bloke off Mark 'n Lard - and Wossy... (when it's on) but the "face" of R2 is still very much the wogan thing - and it makes my toes curl - I'd rather chew old-lady-pants... Phil PS - I kind-of agree about Nick Harper - except he's a way to go before overtaking Nick Drake - who was awesome...
chelsea
Ben was fantastic tonight (live and let die is a fab song) Leona - another good night Mcdonald brothers - better (500 miles is a fantastic song)...but they dont deserve the final. Eton road - not good at all Ray - better. Should be one of Loui's to go home tonight.
feemcg
I thought Ben and Eton Road were appalling tonight - I've liked Eton Road up until now. Leona is the strongest singer of the bunch and I think she'll probably win. The MacDonald brothers had their best performance yet so I hope they don't go tonight.(I was talking to a woman who doesn't want them to win 'cos she's got them booked for her Hogmanay party!) And don't even mention Chucky,,,,sorry Ray, he makes my skin crawl.
