I can offically call myself an eglu owner now :D:D

We have earlier this evening won a lovely (pink eglu):dance:

Can't wait to get it home now, it is only a 50 minute drive from us but am waiting for the seller to contact me!!

Have been hanging my nose over an eglu for months and months....i suppose there was a silver lining to my red mite cloud!! :D

Well done . I'm collecting a new (purple eglu) next Monday, and also very excited about it, so I quite understand how you're feeling. Good luck with the red-mite eradication in the main hen house, that was tough, it's such a great looking house.

Brill news about the lovely pink eglu :D

I love your original hen house too. Don't give up on getting rid of the dreaded red-mite though :x I dismantled our cube and eglus at the weekend, even managed to finish off in the biggest downpour for months  but there were hundreds of the little beggers lurking between the layers of plastic where the front of the eglu attatches to the base, even though the girls were sprayed 2 weeks ago, and I use red-mite powder each clean out :(

i was originally very  when i saw pictures of your wonderful chicken house, now i am even more  i got my chickens and their home before knowing eglu's existed  i'm now going to have to wait until my original chuck pen dies a death before i can persuade hubby that an iglu is a much better idea :cry: then all i'll need to do is persuade him that pink is the best possible colour for chickens to have. do you think he will believe me if i told him pink increases egg production????? :)

Thanks all - we are currently re-thinking our WIR, going to extend the run each side, change the roof to clear corrugated plastic, etc. Her house itself will be the egul obviously...am a little worried though that Karen still had mites in her eglu...i was hoping the plastic would help stop the problem as long as i treated her!! :?

Need to treat the frame itself and will continue to do so and hopefully all will be well.

My only issue is the duck house also lives in our WIR and this is wooden, i don't think mites can live on ducks but do you think it would be worth changing this to a ducklu? I will treat this also with the poultry shield once i have managed to get hold of the damn stuff....is impossible around us

congratulations  can't wait to see some pics :D

i love the (pink eglu) i'm trying to decide what would go best with my (eglu lilac) , can't decide between the (purple eglu) and the (pink eglu)

I'd buy purple as it's a lush colour. It doesn't show the dirt as much as lighter colours (I have a green eglu and a purple cube). Also it's darker to sleep in so the chooks don't get up as early in purple than in green!!
