The raffle for the Walk in Run has been drawn tonight...

 

' the raffle was drawn today at 15.30 hours and the winning ticket was 170, thank you to everyone who supported the charity it raised just under £300'.

Thanks all. I was flabbergasted when I had the email and had to re-read it before it sank in.

 

I'm panicking a bit now wondering where on earth to put it, what features, layout, size etc. etc.

 

My hubby has only just got used to the idea of the eglu+run (I've only had it a week!), and can't understand why I'm so excited and is worried it will be too imposing in the garden and the chickens don't need molly-coddling with such superior quarters blah-blah. I'm sure he'll come round...

 

My reasoning is that

a) the chickens get more space as they probably won't be free ranging too much.

b) Our lawn won't get so poo-ey and muddy

c) It will be easier to clean out if there is a roof on, so I can use aubiose or something similar.

 

Any other convincing arguments I can use to win him over ????

 

I love the look of ANH's run, and have been searching in vain for the post that explains all the features etc. I've seen the flicr slideshow, but am sure I remember a post or website that explained it all?

 

The moomin painted run in the first thread is fab. Maybe hubby would like it better if it was a nicer colour? I may even do the shed to match :D

Aww, thanks :D . I'm not sure where the explanation is either :lol: . I think it's probably lost in the mists of the walk in run thread :roll: . If you click "show info" on the Flickr slideshow, I've put in some captions which might help :) .

 

I'm off to buy chicken feed shortly but will be back before too long :) .

That was exactly what I meant, I knew I'd seen it somewhere!

 

You didn't go for the poo tray in the end then? Do you just swing the eglu around etc?

No, I didn't and I don't regret that decision at all :) . I only empty it once a week anyway and it's dead easy to swing round (the lino is slippy so it moves easily). If it's not too bad, sometimes I just gather it all up in the sheets of newspaper and take it out via the eggport!

 

I honestly don't think I would change anything if I started again (except doubling the size, naturally :lol: ).
