Have just been gardening in my Crocs Athens flops - and decided they needed a clean. How much grime in the side bits - where the rubber changes colour from the outside in ? .

 

If you "peel" the sides back - I bet someone else has a reservoir of grime - or is it just me

 

Will have to do the other 6 pairs ( not all mine ) after the boys have been camping next week

Mine go in the washing machine on a regular basis,or they do get a bit scrotty

I was just a bit shocked at my neglect of "cleaning" them - even though I take an old toothbrush to them, there was still this infill of gunk -

 

All of us have a pair - ok I admit I have 3 - they are soooooo comfy and ideal for the boys too.

My Crocs are filthy, Sarahjo. I wear them to the allotment as they are so comfy and when we get home, my feet are black . I have to soak them in a bowl of water to get them clean . I need to invest in a pair of Crocs wellies, don't I .

I put my Crocs flip-flops in the washing machine as well - but I bet I could find some grime if I have a proper look

Would be interesting to know if the crocs washed in a machine still have a residue of muck between the soles and outer part

 

Not that I am wishing this for any of you - but might change my washing method if they come totally "clean" in the machine - oh, that rhymes

I never thought about putting them in the machine - I have 2 pairs - 1 pair for chickening stuff and pooey feet and the other inside use as slippers all the time. Will try the machine washing method next time.

erm.......... in the interests of research.....I've had a look at the gap between the upper and sole.........they went in the wash a few days ago....

 

I seem to have a collection of grass and straw and probably muck!! - good job the ones I wear most are the black ones!

Must admit I have only washed mine with the hose pipe until now. I would be worried about puttin them in the washing machine. What wash do you put them on?

Might be best to stick with the toothbrush method of cleaning, with more attention to the grime collecting site

It does say on the Crocs site that you can put them in the washing machine. I put mine in every week - using fabric conditioner brings them up as good as new. I only use the 40 C wash.

I only have Caymans, and they go in the machine on a regular basis - not that you'd know it to look at my gardening ones!

I haven't succumbed to proper crocs yet and only have a cheapo pair from the seaside so daren't put them in the washing machine.

 

Cookie's groomer wears crocs to work and she said that when she goes home she goes straight into the shower each night to get the dog hair off her and she wears her crocs in the shower to clean them up each time too.

 

My OH slipped mine on the other day (obviously much too small for him ) and he said he was surprised at how soft they were! Might have to get a proper pair soon.

Ours are often thrown in the wash at 40 degrees, along with hubby's chook cleaning dungarees! They come up a treat!

 

Beware - you may lose your jibbitz though.

Mine all have tooth marks on them where Ruby thought they were ideal puppy toys when she was smaller.

 

She now knows better than to meddle with my Crocs

When I first saw this thread i thought OOh a subject on grubby kids on which I am an expert Was therefore disappointed to find it was on crocs - I am no anti croc I have a pair, its just well grubby kids are far more exciting to write about

I've never managed to find crocsbutter. Whereever I ask I always get a blank look and this is from shops that sell crocs.

I think they bought it out in the hope that everyone would want to keep their crocs looking pristine.

 

In reality, we're all a load of penny-pinching slatterns, who have discovered that a quick turn in the washing machine brings them up lovely!

Following on from this thread I threw 6 pairs in the washing machine. The OH size 13s wouldn't fit in with the others so they're still grubby. My Ecover fabric conditioner hasn't given the crocsbutter shine though.

I always put Crocs in first and then washing - the strap on Carl's stuck in the door seal once and rubbed a hole!
