Mel (& Paul)
Mel - I think we need to consider buying an island somewhere? what a jolly splendid idea Green Island (just off Poole and near Brownsea Island) was for sale recently. I think it went for £4million - do you think the new owners would accept an offer
Lesley
erm....... I'll just pop out and buy a lottery ticket
feemcg
I got my ceramic egg tray in Matalan today - £4, and it holds 12 (the Heals and Omlet one hold 9) Coincidentally, my chickens, who have been faithfully laying 4 or 5 eggs a day have laid 2 today - sod's law! The Dogmother
Don't worry Fee - we only collected 5 eggs yesterday - that's FIVE i've given all the girls a good talking to That's not good Lesley - I am relying on you for eggs at the moment! Sadie (my only layer at the moment) has stopped and is having a mini-moult by the looks of the eglu. I had an egg yesterday, which might be from Lily - it looks like a mini version of one of hers, so that's two eggs in 10 days from 7 hens Temperamental pure breeds! Lesley
It's OK Clare - we had 11 yesterday None of the pure breeds are laying now.

The Dogmother
They've all been moulting on and off, Fleur was never a regular layer anyway and she's had a bit of a blue comb lately, so I think she may have a dicky ticker. Lucille just looks at me and says 'what eggs?' she'd never do anything so common as grace me with any eggs, which is a pity because when she has laid, they are the most beautiful, perfect tiny white eggs. *sniff*
Louise
My two are moulting big time I haven't had an egg for 2 weeks I have 4 left but my dad is coming to stay weekend after next he will insist they are for the pot if there are no takeaway eggs
The Dogmother
Better keep him away from the chooks then Louise. I think that the little darker egg the other day might have been from Lily after her moult - she was the firs to start moulting and looks well feathered now. It was the same colour as hers usually are.
chocchick
My 3 are OK, no moulting and producing eggs. What is this correlation between egg number and the pot some men have? I'll have to start sending you eggs, they lay brown eggs right?
