I hated Toms showdance  It just oooooooooozed cheese.

Yes it did, but definitely in a good way (in my opinion) which was why so many people voted for it. Lisa Snowdon, who I actually thought was a better dancer, had a dreadful showdance. What was Brendan thinking when he choreographed it? It was like watching him wrestle her into a cab after a heavy night out.

I thought Brendan and Lisa's show dance was terrible as well. From what I can remember her costume was awful as well.

I loved Tom's show dance, he put his all into it. He just always looked happy dancing. :D

From watching the bits of training I think Chris and Ricky's argentinian look the best so far. I'd like Ali's to be a bit stronger, looks a bit fluffy at the moment. They showed the clips of Vincent and Rachel's A. Tango last night, you forget just how good it was.

Have to say I'm still backing Chris and Ola!

For me the journey Chris has been on has been

a real challenge for him. I can't get away from the fact both

Ali & Ricky danced well from the start their natural ability

was there at the beginning and they have both had some

dancing tution before, unlike Chris. Without doubt

Ali and Ricky are stronger dancers but I'd still like to

see Chris in the final. Unlikely, but my favs anyway

We'll so find out !

Although a fabulous dancer Ali really wasn't big on personality....when she said I'm doing this for the girls, in some way I felt that didn't really include me just the fluffy frilly girly girls..not the rest of us with fat days and bad hair days :( I'm still rooting for the underdog Chris ( had the judges previously decided to mark his dances down..???? if so their cunning plan didn't work :) ) . As a "strictly" first timer (I've never watched a series all the way through before) am I allowed to say that I hated the show dance? What on earth did all that contortionist stuff have to do with dancing? It's what I'd expect to see in a Circus not on a dancefloor ...Yuk :vom:

hey

I was disapointed tonight. Personality wise chris is fantastic but his dancing just doesn't match that. Ali was technically brilliant she did have a tendancy to lack some level of personality but her dancing was so exact and beautifully excecuted.

Ricky was amazing his tango was beyond words and i did think Craig was being really mean because the stairs thing, it wasn't particually noticble.

Chris' Rumba made me cringe his hips barely moved Ola looked to me like she was dancing round him. His tango was better but it looked jerky and some of his foot movements looked really odd.

I like Chris as a person alot he is by far the most interesting and likeable of the celebs but it's a dance compatition and he wasn't as good as Ali and Ricky. Yes she may have had training before but you could argue that almost anyone has an advantage. Actors because they can perform, athletes because they have the stamina and balence musisian because they have musicality and work with music all the time and news reporters because they are well known and know how to appeal to an audience. It's all a question of how you look at it and what you count as previous training. If you read the stuff about Ricky he did 15 hours for a dance to footlose for Comic Relief and a couple of Salsa lessons with his girlfriend if that is a major advantage then nearly every celeb has it ;)

Equally i don't think it's fair on the judges to say that they marked Chris down or deliberatly tried to get rid of him. Other than Alesha and Darcy they are all professional Choreographers and in Lens case a professional Judge and they certainly wouldn't do that and I can testify from personal experience that Darcy is the picture of professionalism and a lovely lady, She is certainly hard on mistakes and won't give out high scores unwarrentedly but she wouldn't deliberatly mark somone down to get rid of them.

Did anybody else notice that the professional show dancers 'fluffed' there routine about three quarters of the way through?

Also, remember Chris being criticised for not doing much in the Rumba whilst Ola danced around him - the show dance bloke seemed to just lift his partner up and down - very little in the way of dancing I think.

I noticed a bit of a judder. She was very flexible.

Only caught up on this last night, but I could see their mistake, even on iplayer and rubbish bandwidth! Phil's comment was that it 'wasn't dancing, more like gymnastics', very true.

Loved the dances from all three couples, a hard decision to make at this stage, but I think the right people went out. Both Ricky ad Ali have previous dance training, so one would expect them to do well, but Chris hasn't, so I find his performances all the more impressive. I think that Chris will win :D

Anybody else finding Darcey Bussel tiresome?

Her dance was excellent, although I think her flicks could have been a little sharper.

Ricky's Tango was a-may-zing.

Sorry to see Ali go. , but would have been sorry to see Chris go too.

Echoing everything Egluntyne said.

Sorry to see Ali go, and Ricky deserves to be in the final but, like Austin Healey, I'm rooting for Team Cola! :D

Agreed. 50 ways to throw a woman in the air isn't really dancing in my opinion. It would have been nice to see them move around the floor and not stay in one spot doing acrobatics.

I was sorry to see Ali go last night too, but at the semi final stage it always seems unfair when any celeb has to leave.

It will be interesting to see how they get on this weekend as they are apparently performing four :!: dances - presumably to fill the schedule a bit now there are only two of them? That sounds like quite a tall order to me!

Oh dear I had a very unhappy OH when Ali went out. There is no way Chris should have stayed in (I'll duck for cover :anxious: ). He did hardly any dancing in the rumba at all, he was just passing Ola from side to side, very poor.

Absolutely loved Ricky's tango, so good. I think the fact that the other professionals all stand up and applaud him says a lot.

I also think that it should be a 3 way final, just makes it more exciting. :D

Absolutely agree. I think that is one reason that Tom won last year...he and Camilla were not tempted to turn the thing into a gymnastics competition and actually danced!
