3 of us. Can't abide spiders. Even thinking about them gives me the heebie jeebies! I wouldn't mind them if they didn't have all those legs (makes squashing them a great deal easier for starters ) but the way they scuttle........*shudder* !

 

I'm definitely going to join your club, Emma! If we get enough members, do you think we could get spiders banned ?

Can I join as well? I get such large spiders in my house, you can count the hairs on their legs They always sit where I can't slam a jam jar over them, like under the radiators. I perfected the art of presenting a large piece of newspaper to them to step on (really creepy, you don't know if they will step or run!) and then I gently drag them from the area so I can imprison them. Only trouble is YOU CAN HEAR THEIR FOOTSTEPS ON THE PAPER

I really don't know why the spiders get so big

 

I was amazed (and freaked out ) to hear the pitter patter noise (x 8 of course)

 

Someone else will have to try the paper trick now, there must be bigger spiders elsewhere?

Aah, just figured out why I have no flies and very big spiders then!

Sometimes the very big ones are the females who have, er, just eaten the male.

Why they have to live in my bath that size, I don't know, I feel the same as the majority here, but try to be rational about it (whilst shaking). I then use a long strip of loo paper (at least you don't hear their footsteps that way) and once they've stepped on, head for the window to let them out. But, it is risky with the ones that run fast....agggghhh!!!!

No - it's cheaper to use the vacuum I love my Dyson because I can leave it turned on and watch until all the legs have dropped off

Lovely idea Shona, but there's two men in this house who aren't that good with spiders - to be honest I literally have a cold sweat and clammy hands and the shakes and even though Joe can't stand them he can cope with dealing with them as I am such a wreck!

 

I too use the hoover but do worry that they'll crawl out or get me when I empty the bin!

 

I am such a wimp!
