Valkyrie
Dull here too. Thawing gently - even the huge icicle outside the back door has started to shrink. Very chilly wind though.

Valkyrie
Ditto - snow is definitely the new swear word in this house!
Old Speckled Hen
The 5 day Met Office forecast has had and +6 degrees tantalisingly on the fifth day for over a week now seem to have crept in overnight
Valkyrie
We gave up with them ages ago - they seem to be on a different planet. Accuweather forecast 5. something centimeters of snow - and they seem to be spot on! Our local radio said this morning "rain tomorrow" Accuweather says "rain on Friday". Actually it is supposed to get warmer still - going up to a wonderful 8 degrees in a fortnight. Better find those sunglasses - we're in for a heatwave. Groovychook
2 degrees overnight and thawing Bright sunshine and 5 degrees at the moment... lots of horribly, slippery slush around
kerryegg
Still snowing heavily. Just cooking some brown rice to supplement dwindling stocks of wild bird seed.
chickencam
Still some very fine snowflakes floating around here, but quite bright so hopefully it will stop soon and we will get on with the promised thaw. We have 8 degrees forecast for Saturday and heavy rain but we won't think about that, Sunday 7 degrees and sunshine is what I am looking forward too
Valkyrie
Now who'd have thought we'd be looking forward to rain? We've been wishing for it to wash away the snow.
Christian
It is positively tropical this morning. The garden seems alive with creaking and dripping as the snow is melting. According to the thermometer, it is 14C Must be a mistake!
Old Speckled Hen
Another 2cm of snow and still snowing
Valkyrie
Well our liquid garden thermo still says minus 1 but at last I can see the terracotta one and it's around 3-4 degrees - and as it's raining and dripping with melting snow I'm going to stick with that one! ali-s
Plus 3c here, grey skies and feeling damp. I can see the winter wheat poking through the snow in the fields, our lawn is reappearing too. We are forecast more snow this afternoon I am going to chance going into town this morning, not by car though I will walk to the main road and flag down the bus. chickencam
Just over 2 degrees here and it feels warm Grey and dull with a light breeze, not sad to see the back of the icy winds we have had for the past few days.
Groovychook
We've still got a fair bit of frozen snow on the ground here and there's plenty of black ice about. Cooler than yesterday's balmy 6 degrees... only just over 1 today and lots of fog hanging in the valley.
Valkyrie
We went shopping this evening and it was reading 1 degree in the car - although it felt a lot warmer.

Groovychook
OMG! It's 9 degrees here!! Grey and raining but I don't care! The snow has almost gone! Whether I'll still be happy in a couple of days, when the garden's like a bog, is another matter!
Valkyrie
Heavy rain this morning and all the big girls are in the eglu run. The little ones were herded into the big girls run. Stopped raining now but the sky is still dull and looks like it could shed loads more. Rather a breeze here, but at least it's very mild - enough for Erin to go in the garden in her jammies. Old Speckled Hen
It has rained and howled most of the night. Drizzling just now but supposed to fair up later. At least the snow has gone from most of the hens' area and they have managed to get out for a graze.
