Please wish me luck everyone - I think I might need some positive vibes tonight - although thinking about it you will hopefully be fast asleep when the vibes will really be needed...

 

Along with a group of mates, I will be walking eleven miles around Basingstoke, starting at midnight, to raise money for the local hospice. I should also say that there will be about 1000 women all together!

 

It seemed a really good idea when someone suggested it but now I am thinking that I will have to be up for the next twelve hours and, goodness knows, I need my beauty sleep! I know that some of you have done the Moonwalk and I always wanted to have a go at that too. Maybe there is a streak of masochism somewhere inside me!

 

If I am not on here for a while after tonight, you will know why!

I did something similar in Warrington a few months back - it was actually quite fun...though the top of my legs ached the next day!

It was fine!

 

There were over 1,100 women (including some dodgy cross dressers!) taking part. The atmosphere in Festival Place was really good. The place was a sea of yellow t-shirts and flashing bunny ears!

 

I saw parts of Basingstoke that I didn't even know existed! We made it round in 3 hours and 40 minutes including a couple of wee stops!

This was before the walk started and we were all still smiling at the end. I am not sure why I couldn't manage a lie in this morning but I guess a siesta may be on the cards!

 

Thanks for all your good wishes. Apparently £139,000 has been pledged to St Michael's Hospice which is excellent.

 

Perhaps I might try for the Moonwalk next year....anyone up for it??
