Omletina Kyckling Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 I'm not sure if it's a midlife crisis but I've recently had an overwhelming urge to dye my hair partly purple....it's long and curly and "helped" towards blond (gingery brown if allowed to go astray) - well, I took the plunge on Tuesday and with the help of my "pal" Wendy, the underneath of my hair is now crazy violet, with more subtle streaks in the top sections, and I've got some tiny plaits in it too.... I've read about others on here who have purple or pink streaks in their hair so I blame them for leading me astray! The reaction at WI choir last night was quite amusing.....some thought it was fabulous and others said "What have you done? You've ruined your lovely hair!!" My hair is currently black around the bottom, back and one side, and plum everywhere else (aswell as being short on one side and long on the other). Fab! I have purple streaks but the last lot were put in way back in the summer (actually June!) and I was out in the sun a lot and they really faded double quick. I'd love to have that much put in but the infamous staff dress code (the one that lets me where 6" high platforms but not birkenstocks) states "no artificial colours such as pink" and I already push that one to its limits! Me thinks you need purple highlights too.....I did them myself, it was very easy, can recommend the stuff if you want to give it a go, it was only £3.49!!
