I would buy one too, but like some others have mentioned I'd need 5 columns at least (prefer 6 though ) It would also be nice to have a choice in the pics for each month.

Sounds a great idea especially if a column for the "girls" either to record the eggs, or worming regime etc

We have a calendar for this year with pictures of the girlies, their eggs, our now sadly departed cat Lily and the robin that visits our garden, YD had it made up for us and personalised as she was off to Australia for 6 months.

I wasnt thinking that we needed to have Omlet logo on it but will see how I go about running it past Omlet as don't want to tread on toes etc.

 

All help and ideas welcomed if we do get the go ahead.

 

BHWT if everyone agrees will get the proceeds.

 

Was hoping it wouldnt be expensive as would just be the cost price plus some extra for BHWT.

 

If get the go ahead will create a thread for photo voting and look into formats and costs.

Good idea Michelle. It wouldn't need to have the Omlet logo and it's best to ask.

 

Once we've had a poll to choose the 13 photos then we could have another poll to choose which one of the 13 to use as the cover?

I would be happy to send a pic, it was the seasonal tip that stumped me Whether you'd all want a pic of me on your wall for a month is another matter.

now THAT would make them think twice about asking for pictures.

Yes I saw about the new calendar so looks like the one we wanted to produce will be a big "no" which is a shame as any profit would have gone to BHWT.

 

I still think some of the photos people have posted on this site of photos of other things as well as chickens are lovely like the bumble bee, our dogs, sun sets etcetc so maybe something could be done with those.

Not sure that that is entirely correct. The Omlet one has probably been in the pipeline for a while, given the amount of time taken to prepare the newsletter etc.

Ok that's a fair comment. perhaps Omlet have had a calendar in the pipeline for a while..however..I still like the idea that the calendar should benefits a charity...perhaps Omlet would be prepared to give a reasonable amount of profit to charity???like perhaps 75%??

I think thats quite a big ask as they are already giving some away to people who's photos are in it, and they do support the BHWT generally. At the end of the day its a business

 

Could be worth asking would they make a donation though

As I see it Omlet's calendar is different than the one proposed here.

 

How would you like to be the star of one of the 12 months of Omlet? Each month will feature one of you – an eglu, cube or beehaus owner. We are looking for people that keep chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks, quail, bees...or whatever else you might keep in your eglu!

 

What was considered here was a collection of our pictures and a more tailor made calendar with plenty of space.

I'm very happy to enter a picture or two into our competition but would never dream of exhibiting my mug for omlet

 

I think the two calendars would be different and I would have room for both.

So I say, let's get cracking if mazzyC is still keen on organizing it.

Ok I will still send the email and ask the question ie that they are happy for us to produce a calendar - personally I cant see them agreeing as they may be concerned it will affect their sales.

 

Also just to make clear as dont want to upset anyone, it wasnt totally my idea as was mentioned by someone else to produce our own calendar.

 

I will ask though and let you know.
