Say (a belated) hello to Tozi!

Recommended Posts

Meet Tozi, cat number 4, who moved himself in at the end of May and has made himself very much at home :D

Called Tozi because he's got an extra toe on each foot (you're looking at the photo and counting aren't you?), he's been around for probably a couple of years and was always a very nervous hissy-spit with a big head and feet and a stick-thin body. He was constantly injured through fighting and I found him in my greenhouse in January with what I thought was a broken leg - leg and paw all curled up underneath him - totally emaciated and with a very sp"Ooops, word censored!" matt coat :( .

My greenhouse, so my responsibility  , so I fed him all he could eat and took him to the vets the next day for x-rays and neutering. The leg was damaged but not broken, so back home with me he came for a night of recuperation. I think he ate his own weight in food before he suddenly turned into this really loving cat, rubbing round, head-butting, climbing on my knee - he'd never so much as purred before !. I did tell him he could have a home if he wanted it but come the morning, after another cuddle and breakfast, off he went. I saw a lot more of him after that and he was always very affectionate, but showed no signs of wanting a home till the end of May Bank Holiday, when I opened the door in the morning and he just walked in!

It hasn't been entirely plain sailing - Tozi moving in seriously upset my lovely Cleo, who took to fouling the place for a while till she felt more secure :( - but now we're all settled and he really is a gorgeous cat (and my lovely Cleo bullies him when she thinks no one's looking ). He's eaten so much he's now one big ginger boy, with a really thick shiny coat and he learned his name very quickly as it came with a nice plate of food attached  . He adores being cuddled, has learned to play and even purrs in his sleep :D .

Four cats is way too may, but just look at that photo, how could anyone resist? :D

Wow he's absolutely gorgeous :D:D I'm very  but definitely not after any more so he's safe. My 6 would have a dicky fit if I brought another home :lol:

He's got lovely paws - I was drawn to them but hadn't noticed straight away the extra toes :D He is a very handsome lad and you must be chuffed to bits that he's chosen to spend his life with you :D

I keep coming back for another look, partly because I'm fascinated by the toes - his paws look like little fists! - but also 'cos it's such a gorgeous picture!

My rescue cat has finally begun to occupy the house, she wouldn't come downstairs for months but now she has discovered the garden, she is in and out all day long and has blossomed in confidence. Welly gives her a thump if she gets too close, but she doesn't seem to bear a grudge and I am hopeful that the advent of colder weather will bring them much closer together! It's lovely when things work out, Tozi is a very lucky boy indeed to have found himself in your greenhouse.
