Guest
NOTHING! Thats right - I went to the new lakeland in Chelmsford today and I didn't buy anything. The store felt small and cramped and I didn't feel comfortable in there. There was one product I wanted and it turns out its a summer item, they don't have any at head office but 2 stores show they have stock so they are going to try and order them in - good service but shame the website doesn't make clear they are a summer object (although they ARE reduced). I hope I do get one as I want one for my e reader - there isn't a custom made one available yet (although I'm sure there will be soon) and it might be better than putting it in a ziplock back when I'm in the bath. There were LOTS of nice things and some that made me 3 small jars of jam, lemon chees and a marmalade in a gift tray thing for FIFTEEN pounds!!!! Cinnamon
You should try the new Reading store - its huge, light & airy. Funnily enough,I haven't bought anything there either................yet!
Joojoo
Our local one in Shrewsbury is also lovely and airy to walk around. It's almost minimalist in how it's laid out. Loads of space to wander around. I just have to avoid it or I would come out with goodness only knows what niceness in a carrier bag and no money left in my pocket

kitbag
I work in the new Reading one! It's really good to get feedback, and I agree Sarah, our store is apparently one of the most light and spacious stores and that's come right from the top! craftyhunnypie
Handforth is my local one & I love going there. The cafe is nice too, but the afternnon tea was rubbish there last time. I love their bakeware best! I desperately want a battenburg tin, but they don't sell them anymore. Emma.x
Olly
OOh, the Chelmsford one is open, is it! I've got a day in Bluewater in December so I'll go there, but Chelmsford is going to be much nearer for me when I need a Lakeland fix. I don't think I have ever gone into the store and come out without buying something. I sometimes fantasise about what Britain would be like if Lakeland were in government! Egluntyne
Am off to the Handforth store in a week or so with my sister and a friend. The official start of our Christmas Shopping. We have all declared that we are cutting down this year. Last time this particular friend and I went Christmas Shopping, we found ourselves surrounded by an Armed Response Team. Seagazer
Oh my goodness - that sounded really scary I would have probably reversed into a police car if I knew they were watching.
