You were all so kind sending your greetings to my mum on her 96th birthday. I hope you like these photo's of our afternoon with her. She sang along to all our favourite carols and tunes from the Sound Of Music. We had cake and scones with jam and cream. The children had a great time playing the piano and running around the garden with my sisters two border collies. xx

She is quite amazing. No idea what the secret is though. She has had a tough life bringing the three of us up during and after the war. She has never smoked or drunk alcohol, my dad grew all our own veggies without the use of pesticides etc: So we always had good food. She always say's that it's because she had a late baby, my sister was born 13 years after me, my mum was 41 when she had her, not late these days I know, but in 1953 it was rare. It has kept her young and interested in life. Or maybe she is just plain nosey She still does the crosswords and reads the news, can still hold her own in a political discussion. We kids are in awe of her, so are the grand children and great grand children. We all love her to pieces.

Yep, its raining in Sussex........ the chooks are unimpressed & wet and standing in the back porch or under the little covered food station by the other back door........ I am unimpressed but on here so all's not so bad in the world.......... the dogs are unimpressed & wet and DS my little cough monster has just risen from his pit.... he hasn't yet discovered it's raining

Belated birthday greeting from me too

 

She is doing so well for 96, my grandad turned 90 this year and still does all his own cooking and washing and looks after my uncle, but the tide is starting to finally turn the other way a bit now.
