patsylabrador
For the last few days the chickens have seemed to say hello when they come out of their coop in the morning and then come over and gently natter. It's just like a little chat and very sweet, then they eat their breakfast - or have I just totally lost it?
Ain't Nobody Here
Sounds totally normal to me .
Plum
I just love that mumbling. So much nicer than the demanding squarks
docsquid
Mine say hello every morning, one by one, as they gracefully descend the cube ladder (well, not so gracefully in the case of Megan!). They are very polite. I love it when they talk and they are definitely saying "thank you"!
Laura & CTB
My Tiffany always follows me into the utility room for a quick natter, we have a chat about what we've been up to during the day. So no - you've not lost it
chickenopolis
Ours girls chat away when they are let out of the run. They almost purr as well. We have a talk about what they are up to, what the weather is doing and what they have done during the day - I can carry this conversation on with them right up to the backdoor. No, you certainly haven't lost it - you have just made your life better.
mabelandflosmum
I love chatting to my chickens, they always answer with polite little noises no matter what I say to them! I love the noise they make when they are dustbathing, a totally contented purr! And the funny bok bok noise they make when they need to lay an egg and I am being too slow cleaning out the nest box. Chickens are the best!
dippy bird
I get a better conversation out of my girlies than I do out of my 16 year old son!
Toots
mine each chat as they come out of the eglu one by one in the morning, they each get a stroke as they go past! except for Jessica, who waits in the back of the eglu untill she darts out like road runner shouting at me! i am not allowed to strok her and should have let her out hours ago! Gelbel
Well after yesterday's feeling guilty; mine FR all day. I went out about 15:45 to lock them in the run to wind down before bed and Rita came running full pelt at me. One hand palm down in the air from me, one spectatcular crouch from Rita and she's up for a 5 minute cuddle where she snuggles right down (a first) and gave happy little clucks. She even gave a bit of a more animated cluck when I walked down the garden to show her, her 'Dad' who was doing some washing up and watching us out of the kitchen window. Just makes it all worthwhile.

Doing washing up........??????????? I know - he did a bit of dusting too today and, after I cleaned the downstairs mirrors, cleaned the upstairs ones. I think he's after something or has done something very bad.
