Hi to you all.

 

Im new to the Forum by a couple of days.

 

I had a shock when i returned home today to close my Chicken coop i closed the door, but decided to look inside, as they usualy are.

To my shock they had not come home i searched the field in which they go through, a hole that i made for them so they could have a larger area to scratch.

I only hope they return tommorow when it is light.

I,m Gutted.

I hope you have a happy ending. Perhaps they have roosted in a tree.

 

Might be best from now on to temp them into their run before light falls with a handful of corn. They don't see so well once the light drops below a certain level and might not have been able to find their way home.

Thanks all for your enquires.

 

I was up with the larks this morning looking for the two chickens Blonde & dusty. I managed to get through a hole in the hedge i made for the chickens ,with corn on a tray making the noices that they are used to, all of a sudden Blonde appeard and then Dusty

what a good sight it was to see them waddling at high speed to me.

I think they roosted in the Brambl bush the night.

 

I have closed the hole in the hedge untill i have extended the run in to the field.

 

Not only did i get them back one of them also laid an egg today after a 8 week break.

I had said to my family that it I thought it would be a miracle if these chickens returned in the morning. I am so glad they did. I felt sure that a fox had visited and I am so glad that I was wrong. And an egg too!! Congratulations
