The Dogmother
Some of you will remember that I had to have some pretty intensive work done on the Big Green Van in the summer - expensive, but still cheaper than a new one! Since then, the tappits have had a habit of making worrying noises when it is hot, so I planned to replace it when I had a moment to look around. Sooo, with a loan from the folks in my back pocket, I hit Autotrader and came up with a....nother Berlingo! It's a 2004 1.9L diesel Desire and is gorgeous. One previous elderly owner and in mint nick. So a sad 'so long' to The Big Green Van (seen in the background here) And welcome to 'Desiree', which I will collect on Saturday (looks like this one.....) Although it's not as easily spotted as the previous encumbent, it will be identifiable by the BHWT stickers, straw on the back seat and big lurcher in the boot

The Dogmother
The best thing about them is being able to fit most things in the back.. I have shifted a big fridge, double mattress and even Lesley's dog Jazz's kennel... not all at the same time of course. With the back seats down, it is like a double bed in the back, in fact The Boy and I have slept in it while at festivals.
Patricia W
I have a Citroen Picasso which is that very colour- stylish! ( and doesn't show the dirt too much....or the dings....)
The Dogmother
Glad to hear it! I had to clean the old van before taking it for the dealer to see re part-x; hadn't been cleaned for a year and was really muddy

moochoo
Aaaaw goodbye "Big Green Shed". You'll have to get something large to fly from your ariel so we can spot you from a distance now
The Dogmother
too true, our next door neighbours in Banbury spotted the green van in London when we drove down one day and drew up alongside to say hello - it's even visible from space as you can see it on googlesat when you look at my road! You'll see it at the next market Sarah.
Lewis
I can imagine a giant chicken flag flying off the back of it ...
Valkyrie
Looks like you are flashing! But I can just make out a chicken on that shirt. New van looks rather flashy too.

The Dogmother
Looks like you are flashing! But I can just make out a chicken on that shirt. New van looks rather flashy too. That was the Omlet shirt at the Scottish border when we had a gathering up there in the cold a few years back. That border is pretty high up and it was darned draughty! Chickpea
SNAP! it's just like mine! Except mine is currently under a generous dusting of snow Aww I just love my berlingo it's the best car I've ever had!
The Dogmother
Wooo, we'll have to have a Berling Rally! I love them, so roomy and drive well too. I'm now concerned that I may not be able to collect it on Saturday if the snow keeps up
chickencam
Nice van My OH wanted a Berlingo when we bought our Picasso and I wish that I had gone with him on it because it would be so much more practical than my Picasso. Having said that the Picasso is very comfy and easy to drive until you come to park it then you need a field to turn it round. Is the turning circle ok on a Berlingo? Chickpea
Is the turning circle ok on a Berlingo? Could be better admittedly, but it'll do!
The Dogmother
It's not bad, The Boy moans that it's like parking a bus, but I have driven bigger so don't really mind at all. Because the boot doesn't taper, I can get big loads in it; great for when I'm sacbbing firewood from skips and roadsides!
Valkyrie
Ooh twins!
Richard T
Ooh! HennyPenny (my dearly beloved) has one of those. A car named Desiree that is, not a Berlingo. It is a Ford StreetKa which is great fun but not as practical as a Berlingo. And it's probably been in our garage since before Christmas. It's not a lot of use at the moment.
