oneyolktoanother
you might remember from my other post (help hen bleeding on her back) well i have seperated her in the day she is seperated in the run from the others but of a night she is sleeping in a cool part of the house the cut is healing nicely and her poultry saddle should be here tomorrow i just hope it civers the cut as its at the base of the tail. But i am abit concerned as in the day she runs against the mesh trying to get to the others and has made the front of her face bleed she seems to miss being with them especially daisy, so how long do i keep them seperated if the saddle doesnt cover the cut and bald patch thanks in advance
Redwing
If the wound has stopped bleeding and is healing nicely then clean the area up to clean away all blood residue, spray the area with purple spray (sold in horsey shops) and let het go back with them If the wound is still gammy (note the technical term) then keep her apart
Patricia W
Could you bring one of the quieter ones to be with her? That might help the re-integration as well Tricia
oneyolktoanother
The only probelm i have is her loyal friend daisy pecks gently arounf the wound so i am jubious about putting them together when i have let them out together with the purple spsry on they hsve pecked at it its just such a shame as i know its for her own good but shes really missing the rest of them fingers crossed the saddle covers the cut
