fiat panda 4x4

Recommended Posts

Hello there chickeneeers.

I just wondered if anybody has a panda 4x4. I'm thinking about getting one. My current car, I love, but it just isn't suited to my life style! I need something a bit more rugged  .

Ive read the reports and it sounds great except for being SLOW! Just how slow is it? I'm not a speed monster, but I dont want to be chuuging around in a snail mobile.

Also, does anybody know how big the boot is? I would need to get a saddle in it. I know you can put the seats down, but Id need a saddle to sit in it whilst at work etc, so it would need to be out of sight.

It also prides itself on being the most environmentally friendly 4x4 which is a plus :)

We have a new berlingo & my hubby got stuck last week on our work car park! So no it isn't good in snow & ice. It does not grip. We used to have the old type berlingo which was a bit better.

We also have a nissan x trail - superb in snow - but then its a monsterous 4x4.

I'd love a panda 4x4 too. They are not lady put puts. If James May can have one - well they must be good!

They most certainly are NOT little old lady cars - I adore Marge,my bright turquoise Panda.

She is not a 4×4,but she is nippy.......nippy enough to satisfy my speed freak hubby!

She has been fantastic on the snow & ice,has great heaters & a boot big enough for a bale of Aubiose plus a bag of pellets. The back all collapses down too,so an Eglu & run can fit in.

The leggy teen daughters have heaps of space in the back.

We will get the 4×4 next time, but will get a bigger engine & definitely the glass roof we have now, which is Fab.

I remember you getting that car Sarah :D Glad you're still happy with it.

Some of the smaller cars are good in the snow - and old Fiesta I had managed 6 years of travel to Oxford every week day, through all sorts of weather and was great in slippy conditions. My Peugeot 106 wasn't so grippy; the back end tended to slip out a bit. The Berlingo is fantastic in the snow (this one and the last one) and does rough terrain well too.

The Boy's brother is a bodywork specialist and I value his opinion on cars, will ask him what he thinks of the 4x4 Panda.

Hijacking this thread slightly  We are thinking of getting a Nissan X-trail, what do you think of it? I currently have a Toyota RAV4 and get about 39-41 mpg in it doing a mix of town and A-road driving. I would like to get similar mpg but we need a bit bigger car to pull our new caravan.

Lady on its own, not little old lady. Girl-friendly. Which sort of proves the James May point! (Even though he's a guilty shame crush of mine  ) Marge. Good name! :D

I used to want one when I was little purely because it was called a panda. Although I am disappointed they don't come in black and white as standard. :(

My dad has a fiat panda 4x4. In the snow at the moment it really helps us up slippy roads. Their top speed is about 96mph and their 0-60 is 18 seconds. They are a great little nippy car but the ride is a bit hard.

The boot is quite small but if you put things the right way, it should fit in.

Hi guys.

Thanks very much for all the input. The Berlingo is just too BIG for my liking. Thanks for the links and stuff, they were very helpful. I think I'm sold on it, apart from the issue of boot size. I just need to get to see one in the flesh/metal. When we went to test drive OH's new car we actually took the saddle with us and asked if we could just check that if fits  .

What I really want is:

Small car.

Big boot.

4x4.

Cheap to run!

Think that exists???? Oh yes and in deep purple if possible :lol:

The boot is fine on the Panda - I have never had an issue with it. All my weekly shop fits, or a bale of aubiose, with room to spare.

We have a top box for if we are going away for 2 weeks & are taking a lot of luggage, but for a week, with the 4 of us it's fine (2 teen daughters don't travel light! )

I truly couldn't recommend it enough :P
