The Dogmother
They all seem to be at odds Griffin If it was me, I'd take her in and see what happens, and be prepared to collect her early if necessary. I don't think we'll get any snow *shrugs* it already seems to have been downgraded from a severe weather alert to the possibility of snow. Cinnamon
Just noticed my first Snowdrops peeking their heads out in the front garden
Ain't Nobody Here
I've checked 4 different weather websites for my area. Each one says a different thing - from snow to fog to sunny spells to heavy rain . I'm going to change to the "open your curtains in the morning to see what the weather's like" method of weather forecasting .
Old Speckled Hen
Now all our snow's gone I thought I'd post one of our local Mountain Rescue shots

Laura & CTB
I'm going to change to the "open your curtains in the morning to see what the weather's like" method of weather forecasting . I've been doing that for months - especially after last summer when they kept saying how sunny and warm it was going to be. Now at least there are no disappointments! Griffin
Well I got up at 7am and it was raining heavily but with big flakes of snow mixed in. Now the rain has gone but the big flakes of snow are coming down thick and fast and settling. So we're not going anywhere today, much to Georgias disgust
chickencam
I woke up to heavy large snow flakes at 7am, they had only just started falling after heavy rain and wind overnight. It is still snowing heavily but much finer flakes now and it is sticking which they said it wouldn't on the lower ground around here. the higher ground has several inches and the roads are complete chaos. My ED is stuck in traffic on her way to school with a physics exam due to start at 8.45 We have about and inch of very slippery wet snow and it is still coming thick and fast
Valkyrie
Woke up to the local radio announcing snow in Berkshire and north Hampshire. I looked out and saw - rain. The BBC also said snow for us - bong - they were wrong. To be fair when I went outside to sort out the girls it had some bits of sleet but few and far between the rain. Lovely snow photo - that is indeed deep. Rather like that dolphin too!
Valkyrie
Er it's snowing wet sleet like crazy.
chickencam
ED arrived at school with 5 minutes to spare before her exam and have just come back from walking YD to school, and the snow is horrible really wet. There is about an inch on the ground on top of loads of water from where it rained heavily last night. YUK my walking boots leak and the snow kept settling on my nose
Lesley
Lovely photo OSH ! We're right on the edge of the 'will it, won't it' snow band.............horrible grey sky and a fine drizzle at the moment. We also subscribe to the 'look out of the window' method these days - the middle of the Midlands gets really rubbish forecasts I think I might invest in a dollop of seaweed next time I visit my Mum.......to go with the fir cones! Griffin
The garden is covered again. The ex-batts are in their run, eyes on stalks at it all and I can only see Mrs Pants & Maggie May, everyone else is hiding. I can just imagine the look on Hob"Ooops, word censored!"s face, this is really going to upset her
Valkyrie
And it's settling. How irritating.
chickencam
It's much more sleety with us now. My old girls have gone back to bed in disgust and the cats are snuggled up together in tight balls.
The Dogmother
Love the photo OSH - was your OH involved in the avalanche rescue that was reported in the papers? Heavy rain and winds overnight, 4deg this mornign and very dark. Rain has just turned to blobby rain/snow, not settling though.
Old Speckled Hen
Love the photo OSH - was your OH involved in the avalanche rescue that was reported in the papers? No it was quiet for Kendal MRT. They spent most of the time out ferrying people to hospital, carers to people and getting supplies out to snow bound households. No snow here now thank heavens. The Dogmother
It stopped for a while, but has started again, just light snow now.

Valkyrie
We have slushy mucky stuff now and the stuff that settled on the road and paths has just turned slushy although the grass is looking white with green spikes.
meezers
It started snowing here about 6am, really heavy, but now it's all turned to slush, thank goodness. It's freeeeezing though, roll on spring.
