Tulip
We told Kee we were going to fetch him some girls. He was most excited: We came back with (l-r) Holly, Daisy and Lily. They are sooooooooo cute! And each laid an egg before the end of the day (26g, 18g and 21g respectively). Keema literally doesn't know where to begin!! Tulip
Jules - yes, he's inside at the moment following his myco treatment so DH brought him up to bed to wake me up yesterday morning!! He is redesigning the WIRs to mke them more sheltered as a result of Kee's slightly weak chest, I think the bantie house and run will be equipped with hot and cold running water at this rate Anyhoo, Keema and his girls are staying in for the winter, in this here makeshift run: Excuse the random towels and duvet covers - we were playing on the Wii last night and didn't want to scare the new girls with sudden movements! And yeah... they are tiny.. but Holly and Lily are class C, the biggest. And Daisy's a B, but towards the upper end I think. The guy we got them from had a Class A cockerel - he was soooo weeny! Keema's huge in comparison. Here are yesterdays eggs beside a 54g effort from Poppy the Legbar We now have nine chickens. OMG
Lewis
I wants! I know a few people that used to keep them with quail, I've only seen a couple + they are tiny. Is Keema loud? I thought they'd be quiet, but it was the opposite - little man syndrome
Tulip
Is Keema loud? I thought they'd be quiet, but it was the opposite - little man syndrome Fairly... but he's only really found his voice since being inside - and I've never shared an enclosed space with a big cockerel! Chicken Shirl
What gorgeous chooks, and what a splendid cockerel. They look far too small to be laying eggs though. Lucky birds living with you guys. I thought it was only us that were mad as hatters.
