The Weather Thread # 5

Recommended Posts

We had quite a pleasant day yesterday after a disapointing day on Saturday. It was raining when I got up at 7am, we have had a brief dry spell for the last hour or so, but it is looking very threatening again now.

Fortunately my brood don't break up until later this week, so hopefully the weather will be ok at leat at the end of their fortnight.

I went out at 1pm to pick up ED from school, she finished early because it is the last day of term for her, it wasn't raining when she called me to see where I was parked but by the time she came out it was bucketing down. She had too much stuff to carry to use her brolly so she got soaked  Had to have the wipers on fly off setting on the way back

Crumbs! We got off lightly here. Still have the paddy field at the bottom of the garden though. Mostly rain, but this afternoon was very bright and sunny - then we had thunder and lightening along with a teeny bit of hail. Erin was driving home from Basingstoke and had lots of hail - raced it home, but we were on the edge of it. Later on, sun out again, buzzards flying high and lots of anvil clouds all around. Lovely big moon at the moment.

Bizarre temp changes yesterday; 12.6deg at noon, 6.8deg at 6pm and a biting wind. Just 2deg this morning when I got up and light sleet. Very windy too.

A friend is supposed to be travelling to Mull on Saturday for a week's holiday; do we have anyone up there who can give a weather report?

Awful, awful weather up here.

Gale force winds with horizontal blizzards of snow, hail, rain and sleet. Snow settled overnight but seems to be melting now.

Electricity off for a while yesterday evening. No TV, radio signal or internet when I got up this morning, the internet has just returned not sure about the TV or radio. I am having a cookathon today so have pans bubbling away on the hob, oven and slowcooker on, the power keeps dipping and the lights are flashing on and off

Outside temperature is 0c but with the wind it feels a lot colder.
