Has anyone bought these from the Omlet shop and are they as wonderful as the blurb says they are?

 

One of my Silkies is looking a bit worse for wear. I've just started adding garlic to her food to see if that might perk her up a bit. She already has poultry spice added to her pellets.

 

I was toying with the idea of trying Nutri-drops but would like to hear other users views and opinions on them first!

I have used them on my silkie....they really do show improvments withing 30mins!

Sha, I did a search for them and a number of places sell them, all within a couple of quid of each other. On that basis, I'd probably buy them from the Omlet site, just because I trust it.

The only thing is that the pipette in the lid of the bottle is quite big so I use a small syringe to get them in to the beak easier

Do you have to user the dropper? Can you not just drop it on to some food, say half a grape or something?

yes you could do I suppose, if its a pick me up that would certainly be ok, as an emergency measure I would def administer direct though

I've also used these, both individually on an ailing bird, and a few drops in their wet mash when two of them had particularly vicious moults. Amazing stuff!

I bought some in preparation for rehoming some ex-batts. I got my glamorous assistant to hold each chicken on his lap as I gently opened their beaks.

 

Beak-opening was achieved by inserting a finger nail (left hand) between the beaks so they opened a crack and then popping my finger in (right hand) so they couldn't clamp them shut again. Honestly, it didn't hurt at all

 

I then used my left hand to hold the beak open using index finger and thumb either side of the beak (slightly inside the beak to keep it open), palm of hand over the top of the head.

 

I gently dropped the contents of the syringe into the beak. I did this slowly to give them chance to swallow because I didn't want any of it to "go down the wrong way".

 

After this procedure, they shook their heads and a certain we had to endure a small of nutri-drop shower so I'd advise using old clothing. It does wash off skin and clothes quite well.

 

The next day that they layed very brown eggs

I bought some today at the Poultry Auction £8.99...should have bought a spare too If only I could remember the place I bought it from I'd check for a website

 

Gave Buffie a dose of 2ml as I have no idea how heavy she is, but she should be heavier , and she certainly seemed to perk up, though I don't know how much of that was me wanting it to work & her being glad we were home to feed her more wiggly creatures I'll carry on for a few days & hope she carries on improving

Hadn't thought about putting it in their food so had avoided as I'm useless at getting things down beaks on my own. Wth two ailing elderlies and six new ex-batts, I'll go and find some.

I had to use this for the first time last Friday as Tiffany was looking decidedly under the weather - not eating, all hunched up and not a softie as she stopped laying last September.

 

I did try putting it on some food but she wouldn't touch it (nor would the others ) so used a 1ml syringe and gave her two doses.

 

I wouldnt say she was dancing round like a spring chicken but after half an hour she was certainly improved, showing interest in food again and having a wander round. By morning she was back to her normal self.

 

I dont no what she would have been like had I not given her this but the fact she did perk up so quickly suggests it had some beneficial effect.
