Tiggy
Im not sure if I'm scared or revlieved that the day is nigh, I'm having my torn meniscus repaired in my knee on Monday & they are going to have a look around at my ligaments. I seem to have been hobbling for the last 2 years but hopefully this will be the end of the problem. Apparently last time I fell I cracked my femur just above the knee, no wonder it was so sore Once its all better I can get back to exercise again, I'm getting fatter & fatter, I looked in the mirror this morning & my mother was looking back at me VERY SCARY
chickencam
Best of luck for Monday I know that feeling of looking in the mirror and seeing my mother staring at me too, the only problem is she weighs about 1.5 stone less than me and I am only 1 inch taller
The Dogmother
Glad to hear that you're getting it fixed Tiggy - you were limping when we met you. Good luck!
dancing cloud
Hoping Monday goes well and that you have a speedy recovery. Whilst I don't look like my mother, who is tall and slender and I am neither, I do find myself sounding like her more and more . It's all very worrying! Ain't Nobody Here
Good luck for the op . (Just imagine you're looking through a window rather than in a mirror. It might work .)
Patricia W
I've had the same thing - and the lack of pain ( once you get over the op!) is wonderful! Good luck! Tricia

ubereglu
Good Luck. I hope it all goes well. It's nearly been 4 weeks since my Dad had his replacement hip done and he's hobbling around quite happily! There were other people on his ward who'd had knee replacements and they were up and walking a bit within the first couple of days.

Tiggy
thankyou every one, I know that looking forward to an op seems odd but today my knee is so bad I've had to use a walking stick at work, I feel like a real old lady, the stupid knee fees as if it will colapse at any min. I've also realised that I still have 3 weeks holidays to take before April so I've book 2 to take after my sick note runs out after 2 weeks, by then I should happily be driving hubbys car - automatic -

Tiggy
I had to resort to using a walking stick today, since yesterday its got so much worse, Ive got 2 more days at work even my patients are feeling sorry for me. I've used up my 4 weeks sick leave entilement for this year because my asthma put me off in the summer for a week & again in Jan because I had flu (so much for flu jabs) so now I will only get half pay - I have some annual leave left so I can use that, ssp isnt a lot of good to anyone

ubereglu
Glad it's going well! There was a guy up on the Ward at Yeovil Hospital when my Dad was there who had had a knee replacement and he was out within a couple of days. It's quite amazing how quick the recovery time is for it...A lot quicker than hips anyway, (DAD!!! )
