Cinnamon
Tragic news that our premier British fashion designer has been found dead in his London apartment. He was only 40,& it appears that he commited suicide after becoming deeply depressed following his mothers death last week. Just so sad........ Daphne
I feel really sad - tho I'm hardly a fashionista I thought he was a true original, a great designer, second to none. I can't really believe it

Jillus
So sad that someone so young and so famously talented should die tragically due to his untold grief. However I saw his designs on TV this morning and I guess I must be a pleb because I thought them horrific. But I am an M&S girl at heart. chickencam
It is very sad, but I must admit even my arty teenage daughter thought the designs shown this morning were a bit off the wall. It is a shame that he felt that he couldn't go on without his mother, I am sure that is not what she would have wanted for him.
Cinnamon
The thing with high fashion is that it is an art form,& no one actually wears those outlandish outfits in the real world. But ideas, shapes, colours & themes filter down to the off the rack market, & that is why fashion design is so important. I was lucky enough to go to London fashion week when I was a junior in a boutique, and I saw those wild & wonderful clothes in the flesh, then 6 months later much diluted versions were in the shop.......it was fascinating
Daphne
I love the sculptural quality - the drape, the shape - the materials, the imagination, the beautiful cut. I've always loved looking at costume and textiles, I feel sure he will be long remembered in museum collections, but I still feel really sad about his death. Treekeeper
Poor old Queeny a phenomenal artistic talent who just couldn't cope with losing his Mum. It's a shame no one close noticed that his depression had deepened. But once the Black Dog gets you hiding it becomes second nature. RIP old lad
