I miss having a dog :(FINAL UPDATE - SHE'S HERE! *PHOTO*)

Recommended Posts

So So disappointed - have had a call from the ladies husband 10 MINUTES before they were supposed to arrive with Milly, saying that they thought we were the perfect home, however when she got back last night and told her teenage daughter (that she told us is never there), all hell broke loose, so they have decided to keep her.

Whilst people have the perfect right to change their mind, wouldn't you think ewverything would have been sorted their end before coming to visit us and letting our children see her?

Oh no, how awful :( . I can't see how a daughter "who is never there" makes any difference to the "work commitments" that made them want to rehome her in the first place :? .

You can understand her attachment to the dog but as you say, surely they'd have discussed it with her first :? . You may find that the daughter calms down and they decide to go ahead with the rehoming anyway. Fingers crossed  .

I took your point on board and have sent them a message saying if they do change their mind, not to worry about getting back in touch with us....maybe when the dust settles * fingers crossed*

:( doesn't sound like the little dogs welfare is being considered, just the teenage daughters who I appreciate would maybe find it hard, but like others have said it's for the dogs benefit, due to the work comittments.

I really feel for you and your family

*goes off mumbling*

Thanks guys. :D

She has thanked me for my message and said that she doesn't know that she has made the right decision, and asked me to give her a couple of days to think things over.....so we wait......she is a nice lady and I think feels pulled, however wants to do the right thing for both her daughter and her dog.

So disappointing and frustrating. The same thing happened to us a few years ago when we were going to rehome 2 burmese cats shortly after our last siamese was pts. The owner visited us, decided we were perfect, let us buy new beds and cat towers etc, then rang the morning they were supposed to arrive and said she'd changed her mind. BUT, I think everything happens for a reason, maybe there is another dog somewhere who is more in need of your loving home than the little cavvy is, just wait and see.

We had our LabX put to sleep a few weeks ago and like you, I wasn't sure whether we'd get another . We still have a little terrier who has never been an only dog, I thought we'd see how she coped and maybe think about getting another dog after our holiday at Easter. Then a friend mentioned she knew of a border collie who needed a home urgently as her elderly owner has gone into care. It took all of about 40 mins for her to become 'mine' in my mind :o:lol: even though a little voice was telling me it wasn't a good idea and not the right time. In the time it took for my friend to contact the dogs carer, another home had been found for it, I was disappointed , but also relieved, I'm sure our dog will find us at the right time. :D
