Hi peepsies.

In spite of local radio and Sky news weather report we are not supposed to get sun until later (not at all according to the radio) - we have sunshine. Yah boo sucks to the weather people. :P Not as cold either - the ice that I took off the bird bath on Sunday has nearly melted - still ice on the clean water, but I left a glug out last night and no ice on it at all! :D

No eggs yesterday. :( Expecting 3 today or they are dinner - they have been told.

Hello all! Had quite a busy morning, put washing in machine, took Dan to school, finished off part of my crafty swap, had a coffee, emptied washing machine (thought about hanging it out but opted for clothes horse instead), then made some yummy lemon biscuits. About to go taste test them now. I even did all the washing up. Phew!

Can't decide whether I should attempt to make a sponge birthday cake for Oliver, I could make it Thursday night, or should I just buy one?

Night Cooks :D

Aunt has popped round for a brew :)

At that time of night

I was well into my visit to the Land of Nod by that time.

Well she was here then, but came at half 9 ish

Lewis may be making some more muffins later - still have some of yesterdays, but we were all muffin discussing this morning (yes, we are that civilised ) and said we'd take some in tomorrow.

Someone makes donut muffins - she said its like a muffin, with jam in the middle and a bit like a donut on the top  Sounded nice

Someone else has promised chocolate brownies ... will see if any of them turn up tomorrow :P

Afternoon all!

I am FROZEN!!!

Been to London today for meeting and the day didn`t start well as I missed one train thanks to a ditherer at the ticket desk and then the next one was running 7 mins late. Got to London but with various missed calls and texts of the where are you variety from colleague. I was only 11 mins later than if I had got the original planned train but still, I don`t like to be late and it put me out of whack.

Meetings went well and finished by 1.30 so made my way back to Kings Cross, missed train cos i had my head in a magazine  so had to wait 40 mins for the next one. Had a coffee and a hot choc in an effort to keep warm but then I needed a wee half way home  Held it cos I don`t like train loos and OH laughed his head off when he collected me from station and I was doing the desperate for a wee dance

Back home now, my feet are thawing and are no longer blue (blooming thin soled posh work shoes) and Nessie has rewarded me with her FIRST egg! It is darker than pink but not quite brown !eggbrown!!eggcream!

Bella, the newbie Orp had managed to levitate herself out of their run within the WIR. I thought Orps didn`t fly :eh::roll:

Got ten eggs so far today and current broody count is three: Gin (LF opr), Raisin (banty DotteX) and Frazzles (frizzleX)

Been out to spray Alices legs with oil again and they are looking heaps better already :) I DO love her but the tinker had me up and in the garden at 6am this morning :x bokking away to herself....need to sort door to her house me thinks  May have to be super nice to Mr CookieMonster and ask him to cut me a little bit of wood

SO - Lewis - that was an early one! and I have the recipe for jam dounut muffins somewhere - I think it is a Nigella and they are

Cooks - looking froward to ikea trip but I bet we buy more than bins

Tasha - did i miss the pic of Stans new wife? but oooooo I am loving the Game birds after seeing little bors broody mum and 12 chickies at the weekend.

Purple Tree - you have been industrious - want to come and sort my house out?

and Kooje - can you send some sun to Cambs please!

Evening all :D

I saw my 3 year old god daughter today, and now it hurts to type.

Why? I hear you cry... well I shall tell you why

Her Mum (my best mate) has a guitar, and told Iz that "Auntie Deb will play it for you to sing", now I haven't played my guitar in quite a few years, but had to accompany young Izzy whilst she sang a welsh song (which is sung to the tune of If you're happy and you know it clap your hands), I was able to remember all the chords to accompany her, but we had to do it over and over and over again  *Debs loved it really and the finger blisters are worth it  "

Great news on Nessies first egg Em, and glad you have warmed up, although I am gutted I can't join you on your Ikea trip :(

We are going to finish off the cherry cheesecake tonight :P We've just had our main meal, BBQ chicken, roasted peppers and three grain rice

Our sun disappeared this afternoon - feels really cold, but all the ice has melted so it isn't really cold at all. We have rain at the moment - no forecasters said that did they eh? Sky said you had to be really unlucky if you got a little bit of drizzle and we would have sun this afternoon. Fibbbbbbbbs! :notalk:

Only 2 eggs - Mercedes and Squirt.

Yep young orpies fly a bit but as they get fatter and older if they clear a foot that's going some! Although they do jump up onto the bench easily enough, and up the dry stone walls. The only time they cleared 3ft in flight was when they start up high and then it's a downward curve. Take off is more like an albatross and then they run out of steam.

Apaches feet are beautifully soft after using the Nettex spray. But she was never as bad as Sioux (and she should be pretty much the same - due another squirting - but she's much more nimble now, so it must be doing the job with her). The strange thing was that Cheyenne never had that problem. :?

Had the urge for some chocolate, and as I am boycotting Cadbury's, Erin went and bought some Galaxy for me. Is it me or has the flavour changed? Certainly don't like it much now - which is not a bad thing considering my weight either - haven't had choccy for some time now, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Fingers McDeb!

Well I have been out and measured and now you come to mention it I need 15ft x 6ft worth of mesh panels

But seriously I think i just need a bit of board measuring 8" x 4" but I will measure properly when I go out to close up in a bit :)

Em, my dotte x is broody too  I have some eggs arriving tomm, might let her have those to sit on  we have a few spare hutches in the stable now

If Alice gets too noisy for you I have a solution..

oooooohh what eggs Tasha! Raisin does seem to be my most efficient broody so far....Honeys egg had only just popped out and Raisin was there squooching it underneath her ample bossom  All banty eggs were very warm when I collected them>

OOoh do you have a thing for my Alice?:)
