Now I am a very large lady, I have never had any problems with that and most people are fine with it, rude ones or kids may make snide remarks but I dont get too many problems, an encounter this morning has left me livid however...

 

I filled up my car at a local garage

 

I finished at the till and started on my way out of the shop, a lady with a big handbag and a basket of shopping tried to barge me out of the way but there was a display of flowers to my right and I didnt want to crush them so I said to her quite politely 'if you bear with me I will get out of your way'

 

The lady replied 'if you werent so fat I wouldnt have to, you lazy fat people think the world owes you a living'

 

 

I didnt say anything, just put my head down and scuttled out but I really wish I had retorted now as you can imagine I thought of loads of snap retorts afterwards

 

I am currently working long days with a 160 mile daily commute, my animals and chooks take at least an hour of attention twice a day, I clean out chicken coops by torchlight in the evenings and I have a dog to walk, I dont mind being called fat but I draw the line at lazy!

 

Why people feel the need to be so rude I do not know!

Gosh your size (or mine for that matter) is nothing to do with the person you are or your way of life.

 

I know several skinny lazy people for starters, and lots of people "thinking the world owes them a living" of all shapes and sizes.

 

Tasha, I for one think that you are a wonderful, caring, considerate and hard working woman, and as for being your friend I couldn't care if you were 4 stone or 40 stone.

 

Some people just make me sick.

Tasha you're a lovely lady ......lazy is most certainly NOT a word I would use within any sentence including your name......can I suggest a mini-meet at the service station, probably without Clare's chain saw & leave her in no doubt that her comments were at least incorrect and at worst positively rude.......anybody need a lift from down here

I too have had comments made to me about my size,but for someone to be so judgemental & rude like that surely shows a distinct lack of manners,pleasantness & subtlety.

I know your a good, strong woman Tasha, but sometimes comments like that can dent even the toughest skin, so you carry on been exactly who you are and know that karma will get her in the end (unless i get to her first grrrrr )

Seagazer, I should send you down my in laws. They were appalled when they found out that we had black and asian friends. I couldn't understand it. I don't see why the colour of your skin, your religion, your orientation should make any difference at all

Yes Rachel, rude child with obviously rude parents, disgusting thing to say. I have mixed race cousins and they have had similar things said to them when we were children from adults, totally appalling, hence I think thats where I got my temper ... I used to go to battle.
