Dont Leave by Faithless just brilliant!

Someone Like You by Van Morrison - love it so much we had our first dance to it when we got married

Knockin On Heavens Door by Bob Dylan - you just cant beat a bit of Bob!

Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles wonderful to hear any time of year but especially on a warm Spring day when the sun is shining!

All That You Have Is Your Soul - Tracy Chapman absolutely beautiful words

Protection by Massive Attack - astounding track!

Feeling Good by Nina Simone - oh if only i could sing like her!

I ought to warn you... i love what some might call cheesey music!

My top 10 - at the moment anyway!

Iris - Goo goo dolls - A new fave

Don't feel like dancing - The Scissor Sisters - i just want to get up and boogie whenever i hear it and i'm useless at dancing!

Does your mother know - Abba - Classic! Though i love ALL Abba stuff

Ocean Drive - Lighthouse family - Reminds me of happy times...

Even If - The Corrs - (though i also love 'What can i do?' and 'Give it all up' by The Corrs - i couldn't decide which to put)

You get what you give - New Radicals - again happy memories!

Jump - Girls Aloud - another song that would get me onto the dancefloor

Cherish - Madonna - i like lots of Madonna stuff but this is a fave...

Bright side of the road - Van Morrison - Played on the Fever Pitch soundtrack and it always makes me smile cos i love the film and why its played at the end....

This kiss - Faith Hill - so cool!

And honourable mention must go to The Kooks, She moves in her own, Aerosmith, i don't want to miss a thing, The Verve, Bitter sweet symphony and Waiting for a star to fall by Boy meets girl.

And i haven't included anything by Wham, Bryan Adams, Shania Twain or the Pet Shop Boys and i LOVE them all!

And i'm sure theres at least 5 more obvious ones that have skipped my mind... :?

I just don't know how you even think of these songs. I have to hear them to remember them!

I'd have to take CDs, not tracks.

My favourite CD of all time is Psalm Songs, a set of responsorial songs based on the psalms. When I was in the Royal Marsden for 2 weeks I played this all the time and it really helped me through. I still play it regularly and if I could only take one, this would be it.

After that, I'd have Fauré requiem, Mozart Requiem and Rutter's requiem.

Handel's Messiah

Status Quo

Bridge over troubled water (or a whole S+G CD)

Enya

Madness or The Specials

Abba or Bee Gees

Elton John

sorry, I'm not very good at this  but it's a start!

I forgot The Korgis. I love their songs

I've really had to think before adding to this thread........ it's just so hard to choose just 10.

So I've gone for tracks that I love, but they all mean something very special to me, whether it be what I was doing or who I was with at the time, or that music intervened at special times of my life.

So.... in no particular order:

Golden Brown: The Stranglers

Kayleigh: Marillion

Layla: Eric Clapton

The Living Years: Mike and the Mechanics

Follow You, Follow Me: Genesis

Jeux Sans Frontieres: Peter Gabriel

Running up the Hill: Kate Bush

Come on Eileen: Dexy's Midnight Runners

Hey Ho Silver Lining: Jeff Beck

Seasons of the Sun: Terry Jacks

I've tried to come up with a list for this, but I can't narrow it down  My music taste is very eclectic and I like everything from Pachelbel to Ibiza Hard base and lots of stuff in between; I guess that just about covers it.

At the moment I am listening to Believe by Andrea Zimmer and beautiful by Christina Aguilera. Next on is Lovely Day by Bill Withers. Problem with age is that there is so much music to pick from and you have trouble remembering the names of tracks :oops:

ooh!! I'd have Golden Brown!!! and Layla is always good for a blast!! Kate Bush should be in my list somewhere...

and I've realised there's no Led Zep!!! how could I have left them out!!

It's like Clare says - when you get to a certain age - there is simply too much to choose from!!

Brass in Pocket by The Pretenders too. I was in a college band when that was out and I did the Chrissie Hynd look then too

you're not making this any easier!! I'd have Brass in Pocket - or perhaps "2000 Miles"...

probably, of the two, "2000 Miles" - I have a Pretenders unplugged album - it's really awesome on there..

This is so hard! I've been following this since the beginning trying to put my top 10 together, then people post theirs and I think 'I must have that one on!' So although I love them, I've not included Nothing Compares to You, Homeward Bound, Cry me a River or Hallelujah. Hopefully I would hear them drifting over from someone else's desert island!

Here are mine:

Erasure - Surrender

The Corrs & Bono - Summer Wine

Abba - The Day before you came (one of their last hits, and when their music was becoming more 'interesting' and less poppy!)

Aztec Camera - Somewhere in my heart (haven't a clue what it's on about, but love the music!)

Ike & Tina Turner - Nut Bush City Limits (just cannot sit still to this one)

The Pearl Fishers Duet

Van Morrison - Moondance

George Michael - a Different Corner (so hard to choose only one of his though)

Beverley Knight - Keep this fire burning (fantastic beat)

Jools Holland & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra - Revolution (preferably live!! In fact, can I just take Jools & his band??)

And I still haven't managed to include any Eagles or Fleetwood Mac!

At the moment it has to be -

You Raise Me up - Josh Groban

Shake Your Groove Thang - Peaches and Herb

Ain't not other man - Christina Aguilera

America - Razorlight

You Don't Bring me Flowers - Neil Diamond and Barbra Streisand

Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol

Take a Chance on Me - ABBA

Rainy days and Mondays - The Carpenters

Over The Rainbow - Eva Cassidy

I've never Been To Me - Randy Crawford

Strange but true!

A bit of a mix of my ipod ( 73 Christmas songs too)

That album sounds good :D

I have some really good vintage vinyl albums of theirs.

It's called "The Isle of View" - it has a string quartet (viola, cello & 2 violins) alongside their own guitars, drums and a bass..

many of the old favourites - but all stripped down - and some of the arrangements bring out new facets in the songs.

it's a live album too - which brings some freshness to it.

Aztec Camera - Somewhere in my heart (haven't a clue what it's on about, but love the music!)

I LOVE Aztec Camera & this song reminds me of our honeymoon in Malta where it was played every evening in the bar.

I can't believe it isn't on my list

Claim to fame - Roddy Frame once stage dived onto my head
