Gelbel
They are here. Got a bit snap happy!!! Click on the thumbnails to enlarge. Two Black Rocks (Cissie and Ada) and, well lady at Storr's said she's a Sussex Red (Madge), but I wonder if she is not a Columbian Black Tail???? Any ideas. Cissie is laying as I post these. Gelbel
I just HAD to put them to bed. I opened the run door and Ada bolted out - easily caught though and we had a lovely cuddle and DH stroked her under the chin and she burped. I made the mistake of putting her back in the run - not in the coop. None of them were inclined to go up to bed and were getting quite upset. Cissie was easily caught and cuddled before being put to bed. Madge went potty when I got hold of her - definitely the baby of the three. Then Ada did not want to come near me but eventually got within reach and crouched and, so, was promptly put to bed. It looks like they like my roosting bars and will not kip in the nest - which now does have the separator in to make it look even less inviting as a bed. Gelbel
Bless them - got themselves up and out this morning and the only noises are happy pootling sounds not worried sounding 'barks'. Only a bit of poo in the nest box.
Chook n Boo Mum
What beauties , if Madge was a Sussex she'd have a lovely black collar which she doesn't , pretty girl though , and Cissie/Ada finding the nestbox already...hopefully not long before the big brown eggs start to appear Sha x
Gelbel
Ada's laid today - so that's a bonus. What clever girls. Cissie seems top girl and Madge is at the bottom. Madge's crest is so small it will be a while before she lays - she's nowhere near crouching either.
