Whose Car...................

Recommended Posts

I've been hit by one yesterday made an awful noise but thankfully hasn't done any damage. I also witnessed one break off and land and get caught on someones windscreen on the m25 in the fast lane i think the plastic part got stuck in the windscreen wiper. That was seriously scary to watch and dodge. I really think that people should do what they like inside their cars but don't stick things that break off on the outside one unlucky moment and you've got it over the windscreen and can't see.

There is a very amusing e-mail and text going the rounds that suggests that it is all part of a government survey designed to count those people of the male gender who are lacking in a certain department...they will have the flags on their cars for the next three weeks so the statistics can be correlated :D:lol:

I've got a 20 foot flagpole up flying a proud England flag. It's about time we had a bit of national pride and I hope our team do well.

Did you need planning permission for that? I want DH to put a small flagpole at the apex(?) of our garage roof but he thinks we need permission.

Litter it is. What desecration to our national flag - (which is NOT the Union Flag - that's an amalgamation of countries and is British - I am English). I also loathe seeing the need to write England on the cross - are they thick or what? Does Germany feel the need to scribble Deutschland on its flag - no because they know what the flag looks like and so does the rest of the world. And I'm not about to do a Basil Faulty sketch! :P

And I would happily cheer on any British team doing any sport, but I am already cheesed off with these overpaid, spitting, masticating, swearing prima donnas. Give me cricket any day.

I was told a funny joke regarding this subject, you may have already heard it. It was texted to me by two people last night so I guess it's winging it's way around the country. Sadly it's too rude for this forum so you'll have to trust me that it's quite funny.

Suffice it to say that men who put flags on their cars would probably be offended by it.

I hate football (sorry) I also work in an office of footie mad men, so am keeping my head down for the next few weeks - they are banned from talking about it in my office though. There's a wee pub over the road form the office; it has flag on poles attached to the front, and on Friday it had a large one attached to the roof of the building. That enormous flag has coem adrift and is flapping over the front of the pub.

We have a very tasteful unadulterated cross of St George on a pole in our back garden. My DS thinks that to write England across it is unnecessary and so do I. I like the national pride aspect, but it can be taken way too far. I wouldn't put flags on my car, and often wonder how many people open the windows on a warm day without thinking, only to lose their flags. I hadn't really thought about how dangerous they could be though :?

There are 3 fans here, myself, OH and DS, my 2 girls spent Saturday evening watching Dirty Dancing, and are now planning a schedule of must watch films for football nights.
